Where was all the bitching about Lara's low blows when Matirosyan pulled his head down? Why isn't anyone taking up for Vanes?

For the record it looked like Lara was playing with him the whole time. He won clearly despite Vanes hanging in fairly tough.

I don't even think Vanes pulled Lara's head down there - that was a straight punch to the dick. If I remember right, Lara was kind of dirty in his last fight too.

Lara was ridiculously dirty in his last fight. He's the chief punk of Cuba, and I hope he gets ko'd hard 6 feet under.

Just got done catching the HBO West showing of the card:
87-84 Lara for me. Also, the tide of the fight was clearly with him. Too bad the butt happened; I think Lara either would've stopped him late or won a clear decision.

As for Garcia:
Quite impressed. He did something even Gamboa couldn't do. Too bad about Salido's broken finger; hope the two fight early next year.

Fightscorecollector,
Did you collect scores for this fight as well as Mares/Moreno? Didn't see a post about it in CS.

88-83 Lara for me.
Rd 1: Lara, close but clear
Rd 2: Vanes clear
Rd 3: Vanes clear
Rd 4: Lara clear
Rd 5: Lara toss-up
Rd 6: Lara toss-up
Rd 7: Lara clear
Rd 8: Lara close but clear
Rd 9: Gotta score it for Lara. He landed two clean effective shots and was the aggressor for the entire 26 seconds. Vanes did absolutely nothing.

I can see it being as close as 86-85 for Lara, but I refuse to accept it as a draw or entertain Jerry Roth's belief that Vanes won. He fought a lot tougher than I expected, but that's not saying much for a guy that got worked by an old Kassim Ouma. In my opinion Dave Moretti behaved like a coward and chose not to do his job. When the ref says score the round, he means score the round. Not "automatically make it 10-10 because the round was short, even though it had a clear winner." Or maybe he missed the punches...I guess I shouldn't jump to conclusions.
