For me whether a boxer is gay or not makes no difference.

Floyd is always smiling when he's with Leonard Ellerbe, and frowning when he's around women? If Leonard makes him happy, then it's all good.

Different strokes for different folks.

my view is that most people live...lets call it the "ungay life" - marry in their late twenties, regular job, love sport, the odd night out blah blah blah but with the possibility of a fairly wide discreet sexual life. many men and women have the very occasional fling with their own gender does that make you a set and fixed one thing or another? no, in my view.
i have a gay friend who fancies certain women and has had sexual relationships - ok rarely - with women. in my own early twenties i dabbled a few times on "the wilde side"..i'm now in my 50's and leading a very "ordinary life". there must be millions like me.
in past times people stayed together for life - its not really the case any more - although it can be wonderful to see it still happening with either gender. (one thing that has never changed for me is my love of this sport)

we humans are, or can choose to be, many things over the course of our lives.
I'm down with the whole gay thing ('camp' is a different matter entirely, though, I admit), it doesn't bother me and never has and I agree with your general idea that trying to put people into neat little boxes is daft. I just can't see the number as being even close to one in ten, that's all.
It doesn't make any sense that there'd be more gay people in cities than in the country. Maybe more who practise openly, but in terms of people who would be comfortable with, and interested in having sex with those of their own gender, there's no reason it wouldn't be about the same.

I agree, though; 1 in 10 people I know are not exclusively homosexual, but I would guess that 1 in 10 people I know has either experimented and enjoyed it, or would quite like to. Probably more than 1 in 10. It's a weird one for me; I find the idea of sex with a man profoundly unpleasant, and I know quite a few people who think that must be a lie!

Doesn't matter to me if someone is gay, sportsman or not. Its about what kind of person they are that counts.

As for things that repulse me, its old people eating.

Although I understand it's unusual for an athlete to come out so it generates interest, I generally don't consider what a boxer gets up to in his bedroom or down the local dogging spot/ glory hole... insert here

What people get up to in their houses is their own business, but to openly flaunt their non standard sexual agenda is simply wrong and is often done in public places for effect. I dont snog my mrs while out shopping, but gays seem to think its ok to. Brighton shopping is simply not for me.

before i am hounded off here for being too '80s' then im just saying im entitled to my opinion. and im in the majority with my thoughts.
Why don't you snog the wife when your out shopping? Would you not snog her in public?
Why would i? what does it prove? we hold hands when shopping etc, i do not have to taste her tonsils in a 'please look at me' public statement!

I know what you mean, im all for cottaging in public toilets (I think most of us would agree with that) its in an enclosed space, with a gloryhole there for shy guys and iswell out of the sight of the public.

Its these guys that do their "acts" in forests and bushes that disturb me. I remember a family bike ride to Worsley being ruined by a 20 or so men participating in group sex in a clearing near to the bike track.
you should have driven your bike into the dirty bastards, or offered them a reach around......perm any 1 from 2 !!

For me tonsil tasting is because I want to not to show off, I get those kind of urges at all time of day and would not be embarrassed to do it in public

Jim "The Pink Panther" Rock. I met him in Dublin last August with his wife and kids. Very nice guy. Are you sure he came out? I would have doubts about that. Of course you can be married and gay but....

Adam and Eve was a fairytale just like Joseph and Mary and all the other claptrap.

Is it just me or anyone else notice gay men tend to be black?

and I'm not talking the camp-it-up sort you see on the telly.

and long may you continue to enjoy it :salut: i know a few gay black fellas but there really is no majority or minority on this issue.

i think its worth saying that certain cultures are less tolerant to the gay thing - in the caribbean i understand gay people do not exist!! and i have heard from some africans that black people cannot be gay, which is equally as laughable. this country and some other societies are more open so thats why there are more gay people in those places - it doesnt work like that

There are lots of different culture gays, Italian men are worse (apparently) but Middle East have their fair share too. Asia have lots of gays but they tend to want sex changes.

Im not bothered about gay men as long as they keep it to themselves. All I get sick of is those who are really camp and camp it up and have fame through it.

I have a mate who's a mans man, and won't stand for anything gay. He then got the hump in the pub because a gay guy said that he wasn't fanciable.

and what world do you live in mate (a close minded right wing one by the sounds of it) I see many, MANY, MANY more heterosexuals snogging in public than I do homosexuals.

I remember way back in the mists of time a relentless poster on the current scene of ESB with the handle 'Farmboxer' who was adamant that Roy Jones Jr was up to his nuts in Smoke Gainer's guts. He did have a serious anti-Roy agenda, though, and I don't think for one moment there was anything to it. The post above just reminded me of it.
