I was there and Kell had plenty of support.
A lot of lads from Sheffield went.
Including half of wincobank depending on release dates and good behaviour we hope to have these lads back in the stands soon.
He was on pretty early and Kell had to sell the tickets himself with all that
eating shit and being out clubbing everynight he did well to train and shift what he did.Assuming FW gave him the same amount of tickets as Frankie which as it was a title fight and Fw had no time for Brook and showered Funtime with praise only to retract it when Frankie wasnt tge golden boy.
Gavin may have at that time had more support he was/is a good young fighter and comes across well.
Brook has no need for Gavin that said Khan has no need for Brook and Haye none for Fury.
If it makes money sense it could happen down the road and who knows if they fought know Gavin would lose IMHO.

Clint,
You can re post this with Clev removed and Brook inserted. Except of course he's undefeated.
These two fighters seem to have total polarities when it comes to fans. They are the marmite of boxing - love em or hate em.
Hopefully when the next slag fest starts about Brook we can convert it to a Clev thread.
Move on guys please - move on.

Indeed.
It's almost as if some British fans love to hate & just sit waiting for fellow Brits to lose so they can laugh in their face.
Why does a fighter have to be an ATG? Why can't we just support our British fighters and give constructive opinions if they perform badly, rather than tear into a personal rant of mockery.
Clev and his team took on one of the most avoided fighters. If his team had decided to avoid Kovalev the same nuthugger on here would be slagging them for avoiding the man!
Truth is Clev thought he was unbeatable, agreed to fight a dangerous avoided fighter to prove the doubters wrong but got soundly beaten. Big deal. Thats doesn't make him a shit fighter.
If some unskilled nobody had soundly beaten Clev then I'd tend to agree but truth is he was beaten by a clearly world class heavy handed fighter.

It just demonstrated how much boxing is a game of levels. Cleverley had built a reputation as a rugged, high-volume, wear you down fighter even at seemingly world title level. It ended up being horribly one-sided. Real boy against man stuff.

brook has worked his way thru world title eliminators..... as has been pointed out countless times jennings, ndou and hatton all boxed for world titles.....hatton was an undefeated european champ...hatton rated brook higher than alvarez.....here's the ring ratings.....

Hatton was an undefeated european champ? Didnt he lose to Craig Watson?

If i'd said Jennings i'd of been wrong Kell was in terrific shape for the Saldivia it was an eliminator and he KO'D him with a jab in quick time. As Jennings was stopped by a cut I would have been open to ridicule and didn't really find the result satisfactory but a wins a win.
I will never convince you or the rest of the fools who have dragged Brook into it because they cannot think of a decent comeback to the original post.

I thought it was a joke? Why would any of us need a comeback to a joke not aimed at us?

Saldivia was pathetic, he fell over off a jab and took the payday. The only name on his record was Said Ouali who took him out in 1 and Ouali isn't great himself.

This is what I don't get - everybody is always talking about "World Class" and in many cases they are talking bollox.
Whenever a fighter is described as "British title level" it is taken as an insult by the boxer themselves (when they used to post on this site) and their hangers on - it just doesn't make sense.
Of all pro boxers, a very small minority will get to Britsh title level never mind "world class".
In my opinion, the only World Class British boxers at the moment are Froch, Haye and Khan (a month ago this would have caused uproar amongst the Scousers / David Price hangers on, when in reality he is a decent British Level boxer - nothing wrong with that, I wish I was !).
Ps - how do the ratings on this site work ?
I have just noticed that Clev has dropped to number 3 behind both Bellew and Maccarinelli.
How does Mac beating Mckenzie and Bellew beating no-one make them suddenly better than Clev who lost to a good lad who would beat all of them ?
In anybody disagrees, no problem - it is just my opinion and it is just the internet !

Careful matchmaking is what led him to becoming a european champion. He didnt deserve a shot at the european title anyway after Watson had beaten him. He hadnt done anything since that loss to justify that shot.

Brook was specifically brought into this thread mate because of who created the thread and there dislike of anyone criticising Brook's level of opposition upto now. However the same person doesnt seem to think it's somewhat hypocritical to take the piss out of a guy who's coming off a bad defeat to a serious puncher. That is why Brook was brought into it.

Brook v Cleverly? Looking at both their records, they have beat guys of a similar standard.
Clev was only ever a paper titlist. Fingers crossed Brook takes the kind of step up that Clev did with Kovalev though.
Pound for pound if they were the same size? I think Brook would knock him out

This is pretty much it (all this Brook stuff, apart). Nathan is a swarmer, busy etc...but he just couldn't deal with the power. No shame in that, it happens to loads of guys. What is important is how he comes back and judging from what he said, he may not even do that. Which is fair enough.
