Interviews in the ring, why can't that be brought back in this country? It loses something with the boxer sat on the ring apron nowadays.
Also Nobbins, seen some great small hall fights in recent years that deserved the boxers picking up something extra.

Whatever happened to the old upright classic British stance - You rarely see it these days. Boxing the way you were taught as a kid, bouncing on your toes. Another thing you don't see/hear too often is the breathing out through your nose thing, you used to hear it all the time, like a high pitched zipping noise. All you get now is dickheads like Broner going "wah aah" like some sort of Russian woman tennis player.
Richie Woodhall and Chris Pyatt were the last two great exponents of these long last arts.

The similarities between Broner & a Russian woman tennis player genuinely never occurred to me before, but now you say it...
That grunting thing, man, Victor Ortiz does it as well, it's not only undignified & unedifying it's asking to get your jaw broken... Look at the side of Boner's face after Maidana finishes with him... Sigh.
& I think the old upright British stance died with pulling back & eating overhand rights.
Now we teach ver kidz to clamp the earmuffs on & hunker down in front as if they're some sort of Mexican, & prey that the other kiddie has never been shown how to throw an uppercut or hook to the body.

Lonsdale and Everlast being pretty underground, cool brands.
Now worn by anyone who has ever been to a high street, ever.

The glory of winning THE European title.
Talking about boxing with friends and not rolling your eyes.

This, for me. I had a Lonsdale vest which I treasured and could only dream of Everlast. To see it in Sports Direct really upsets me.

One thing I don't miss. Attending them, if you were drinking, the night became a blur. I only have vague memories of Hatton-Kostya, Calzaghe-Lacy and Calzaghe-Kessler and I was at all three. I had to watch them on the telly when I got home.

I love Eli's laid-back expression throughout; like a man trying to swat a bee at a pool party.
Holdsworth used to always mention Frankie Swindell's Moon face.

I miss when the best used to fight the best and people didn't let them use excuses for them.

Watching Jorge Paez vs Calvin Groves I & II this afternoon, this came back to me with force. It arrived at the same time as this revelation:
I miss the days when only Jorge Paez wore Jorge Paez shorts.
O tempora, O mores etc etc etc...

Does seem a bit weird when I see fighters with long shorts on or them gay skirt things like Cleverly used to wear, should be wearing what's most comfortable and easiest to fight in, not what looks best.

What's the most comfortable and easiest to fight in is a subjective matter.

I always liked Tyson and Benn's short black shorts and short black shoes.
