Who doesn't want to see if Andre Ward can prevent the great Marco Periban from scoring his second win in six fights? And can Ward hand Smith his third straight defeat and join the likes of Groves and Degale in stopping the limited Englishman?

Two riveting possibilities if you ask me.

If Ward is coming back and fighting someone like Periban, what makes you think he was in the running for a Kovalev or Stevenson fight ever? It might be years before he campaigns full time at 175.

I never said he was....it seems very clear that he likes being at 168 and doesn't want to stray from there, which is probably why he brought Dawson down rather than going up

Dawson called Ward out and said he was willing to fight at 168. That was Dawsons idea so why is that Ward problem????

Stevenson barely got by Fonfara and Ward scared??? Please........maybe Ward is hard headed and may screw himself out of money but he aint scared. Dude hasnt lost since he was like 15.

That's NOT how it happened.

In a post-fight interview Max Kellerman asked Dawson "would you be willing to go to 168 to fight Ward" and in the heat of the moment Dawson, wanting to not look like a ducker in front of the TV audience, said yes.

It was Kellerman's idea.

He did duck Stevenson after Adonis KOed Dawson.

But the fight will never happen now, because Haymon and Ward's promoter are the worst of enemies.

Ward has barely fought in the past 3 yrs. Cant blame him for having one kick the rust off fight this summer. His fights thereafter had better be worthwhile though. And by worthwhile I mean Golovkin goes up to fight him or Ward goes up to fight at 175. If he decides to stay at 168 and GGG wont go see him then the only permissable opponents there are the Andre Dirrell-DeGale winner or Anthony Dirrell or Froch. There is no other fight at 168 thats remotely interesting for him. That IS IT. JCC Jr is not remotely interesting. He would kill him.

I thought Froch was retiring already. He's had a great career for the type of fighter he is (throwback fighter IMO) and he's got a dime piece of a lady on his arm now that he refused to bang during training so why fight? Ward will clean his clock just like the first fight. The fight wasn't even remotely close or entertaining. Go enjoy your life Carl or send me that lady of yours and i'll show her a good time...for about 20 seconds. I'm a realist

Sounds like HBO is not televising Ward's next fight:

http://www.BS.com/andre-wards- ... bet--89287?

It will be on BET (Black Entertainment Television). How many viewers do they expect there ?

Depends on whether he can get his whole family to watch or just his wife and parents
