I enjoy the strange and unusual opinions. (got a few myself.) I don't even mind the name calling to a degree, because it gives me a chance to attempt to see if I can appeal to the better angels of folks.

I like striving mightily for peace within diversity. Don't even mind being the rodeo clown, and getting the wrong end of the bull from time to time.

But when the Gran/Duce went beyond just unique opining, and insult slinging, to actual real "digital damage" to the database, those who set the parameters, found him to be over the line.

We have a rule about insults....it may even be a bit too strict for a fight forum....I mean c'mon...many of the fighters themselves live by them. So that's very rarely been the reason for banishment.....we got some room for tempers, I think the only time that has been the straw is when someone has added hounding, or threatening someone. Insults get attention, threats get the board of education.

....and Yancey........FYI
.... I noticed that when I responded to your post it somehow disappeared both from my quote and from the thread...........if I clumsily did this please forgive....it was not intentional....and is a mystery to me....unless you deleted

it while I was responding? I've never seen that happen before....
No, I didn't delete. but no big deal. Don't worry about it. :TU:

I'm not going to name names, but lets just say, that the person in question called me a junkie, because I was taking prescribed pain killers after I had some surgery. I've got no time for wankers like that.

It's a shame to let anyone put you off.You are a great asset to the forum. I almost walked twice with Il Duce (sorry to go against the grain) and also when I just started and SaadofftheDeck ripped into me. Now, of course I couldn't care less. And maybe you should care less also. It makes me laugh ; in 41 years of my life no one has ever disrespected me to my face or been offensive to me or called me an idiot... Yet people on the internet might call me an idiot..they never have to my face...

Didn't you just say people who talk about Douche are mentally ill?

It was Judah Ben Fur then Boxbuzz who first brought up Il Duece again in this thread you sniveling twit.
Maybe its time for thicker glassess ?

What i liked about duce was he used to scan magazine pieces from the time and than start a discussion.

Simple but very cool.

Any discussion on here is far more interesting when it is discusse with a regard to the actual view of the time rather than just hindsight and tomfoolery like happens any time u discuss tyson 85-91.

Duce went against the prevailing winds.

But he violated those who shant be violated.

In regards to the sacred boxrec database......his crimes were without number.......his villainy without end.......so he had to go....he threatened our very existence

People use to take the time to scan old articles and photographs here for a discussion all the time.
Nowadys no one seems to even want to.

I would still like to know which fighters and fights that we would know of that he attempted to falseify results for.

What do you care. The kid was a complete fraud. He made up 90% of what he posted. How many times was he caught lying and called out on it. Its always been remarkable to me that some would rather listen to him lie simply because he was lying about a subject they were interested in rather than have him booted because he offered nothing to the discussion. But then again Im replying to a guy who constantly posts his tinfoil hat conspiracies and who has, more than once, been accused of being Il Duce himself.

What do I care ?
Why should you care that i would care ?

Im asking who this supposedly "Naive" moderator was that this was done to.
and which fighters involved and which fight results were said to have been phoney.
and who was it here (either another moderator or poster)that deemed such fight results to be phoney ?
and what were their credentials to back up this claim that the were fake ?
and what was their evidence was that these said fight results were indeed fake ?

Im sure a lot of posters here would like to know was well.

Let's start with coherency....what do you mean by "done to"?

I don't think there was a moderator that had anything "done to" them.

So I'm at a loss at what your attempting to communicate here.

As far as the data base....as I understand it, he conned his way in, via building trust with someone,(not a mod) and then went about having a good time with his imagined "facts" and popped them right in.

Sort of doing things along the line of changing outcomes, etc. Things to suit his fancy.

well obviously it had to have been a moderator who added these so called "Falsified" results to the Boxrec database
and also had to have been one to have them removed.
(unless someone hacked into it like at the cyberboxingzone a number years back).

BTW How can a "non-mod" have access to get into the database ?
Who is this non-mod answerable to ?

Duce was a serious forum irritant as well, continually writing long fantasy pieces about fights and fighters, inventing quotes. Future researchers should thank the boxing gods his entire oeuvre was erased.
