The same logic as "Kell Brook is a massive welter" is the same logic that can be applied to GGG. If Kell Brook should really be a MW, what's he doing at 147? He'd have drained himself for the payday against Floyd, in the same way Kell is going to seriously handicap himself here. GGG's not a massive MW, like Kelly Pavlik or Chavez Jnr. But bollocks is he a small MW. If he was that small he wouldn't have been a career MW and would have met Canelo at his catchweight with ease. He's a natural MW and takes his training seriously, so he doesn't have to drain and he doesn't carry unnecessary bulk. He's more of a sinewy guy. People talk about Martinez, but Martinez genuinely WAS a small MW: he turned over at welter, I believe? And was really a LMW who fought at MW to get the big fights. I'm just not comfortable when people say the same thing about GGG.

I'll be very interested to see them next to each other in the press conferences and stuff.

He's genuine 160 lb fighter, not a particularly big one, but brook is not, nor has brook fought a genuine MW.

Small(ish) or not, GGG hits hard enough to flatten men far bigger than brook, it's going to be a completely one sided beatdown.

I really wish Brook were fighting Canelo instead. Now that would have been an intriguing fight.

I'm not sure . It would definitely have been a tough fight, but winnable.

The fight could go 12.. I see about a 30% chance of that.. Brook is a very big Welterweight and Golovkin is a mid sized Middleweight.. Brook will enter the ring about 168 or so -- to about 170 for Golovkin.. I see GGG controlling with his better jab, speed, and boxing skills..

Brooks is a very tough man.. If Golovkin can't find the KO it's not going to bother him.. GGG realizes, that if Brook can go 12 rounds it's going to open things up a bit for him a bit in the Middleweight Division.. Guys like Jacobs, Eubanks, Saunders, and CanYellow may want to fight him.

Hes barely broken sweat in his entire career, 6 rounds against Carson Jones aside.

Would much rather have seen Eubank Jnr v GGG...

Jnr would have been bigger on the night and have a stronger chin at this level.

As long as Brook doesnt get blown away in a round or 2 then there are big domest fights at that weight which will be better paydays than the jojo Dans of this world.

That being said the fight ends when GGG wants to end it. Brook simply cant take the shots of GGG and his upright stance will come back to haunt him...hes no naz....i can see a KO of Khan Canelo proportions

Golovkin looked like a man browsing a garden centre in their head-to-head. Brook's pumps of the fist seemed more like a search for self-belief than a consequence of assured conviction. He's confident of turning up and giving his best, I'm certain, but he knows how dicey this'll be. I hope he does well.
