Brook deserves all the credit in the world for taking this, but I can't see past a Golovkin stoppage win.

Golovkin in 4-5 rounds, Brook deserves massive credit for stepping up like this, but it's going to be brutal. At least Khan was only really going up one weight against Alvarez and it was at least possible to see a way that he could win the fight with his speed, but I can't find a way to give Brook any chance at all here. He's going up two weight divisions to fight a man that hits far harder than he does, even more so when taking into account the weight difference, has a better chin and is a better boxer than him too. Golovkin will absolutely demolish him.

Agree with this.

Out of interest, anybody know what weight they both walk around at?

Brook gets crushed within the first 2 rounds unless Golovkin takes pity and goes easy on him, in which case it could go to the mid rounds. Either way, Brook is unquestionably losing this fight.

I can't see the point of this fight, It does nothing for GGG's profile (outside of the UK) and its a kamikaze job for Brook. Surely there are more viable opponents available for both of them?

I saw some tweets from Bellew saying how Coldwell had always said brook looks better when he spars at a heavier weight- be interesting to see whether that plays out.

It's a smart move for GGG, he can hopefully get some big fights over here.

there are plenty of opportunities in the UK for GGG to build his profile and earn plenty of money from Welter to Super-Middle -
vs. DeGale
vs. Groves
vs. Callum Smith
vs. Saunders
vs. Eubank
vs. Liam Smith
vs. Amir Khan

Precisely. I have a feeling too that the UK will take to him, aggressive fighters tend to do well in the UK.

YES! Let's keep Golovkin over here and let him plow through that list, he could probably do it in 6 months :yay:

I've always been critical of Brook's career, can't fault his bravery here but I just wonder why? Welterweight is wide open if he gets the fights, is his weight that bad? Similar to Khan it's essentially a fight for nothing, he won't lose any place at welterweight but why take the loss? I can't seeing him winning, or even looking all that good, I hope I'm wrong.

Fantastic fight. Did not see that one coming. Brook is very skilful and strong and punchers hard. You would have to favour GGG, but it is a fight between two world class fighters.

Which puncher is hard? By hard do you mean said puncher is aroused?

Kelly keeps his title, fair enough, but he runs a severe risk of being damaged goods physically, mentally and career wise after GGG breaks him down. I bet a Tenerife knife in the leg feels like a blow job from an angel in comparison.

It won't just be the '0' he loses.

I'd be interested to see what sort of weights these two will be come fight night. Am I right in thinking come fight night fighting at 147 Brook normally comes in above 160. I think Golovkin weighs around 170 come fight night. Find it very hard to see a way or strategy how Brook can beat GGG. Supreme power and an outstanding boxer can't see Brook being able to out box him at all. Also Brooks been fighting Frankie Gavin and Jo Jo Dan. Golovkin is in a totally different league to Porter who i believe is easily Brooks best win.

I think Brook is the best fighter Golovkin will have faced but the fact Brook is welterweight makes that a bit of an irrelevance to me.

GGG is still the better fighter, naturally the bigger man and devastating puncher, will knock holes in Kell unfortunately

I can see Kell trying to box and move and will desperately try to keep out of range
but once he realises the a) he doesn't have the strength or punch power to keep him off, b) Golovkin is outstanding at cutting the ring down and c) starts to feel the force of the punches, he'll go into his shell and Golovkin will be able to finish it, as and when he pleases.

I can see Golovkin giving Brook a few free shots in the 5th round before taking him out with a hook to the temple round the Brook guard.
