Theres been a arum inspired conspiracy to insist pacquio is still close to the top of his game but ive seen a steady and notable decline since 2012...i felt the pac that lost to mayweather was a shot fighter.......but this performance was the worst he has ever looked and a real step lower from the jessie Vargas fight......that said i would mainly blame inactivity and his political career and woes....for the first three rounds he looked like roberto duran v pat lawlor 1991!....but by round 8-9 his hand speed and intensity went up 5 notches for the rest of the fight so it was rustyness....i think the headbutt induced cuts made it look worse ...i had pac winning by 2 points....its sad he gets a loss on his record for this....he showed incredible will to win and hunger to come back the way he did...a true champion....i hope a quick rematch can be made within 5 months....at least both should get a payday....two exceptional warriors

Ewww. Horrible, gobby yanks.
Ewww...Horrible, lying brits that won't call bullsh*t when they see it.

This explains why Jamie McDonnell is popular there in spite of getting gift after gift. As long as he talks like us doesn't matter if he deserved it or not.
Jamie McDonnell isn't popular at all, hardly anyone outside hardcore fans know who he is

Regardless, did you really see it so clearly in Pac's favour? As I posted earlier, I didn't score it round by round but my feeling was that Horn edged it.

Yes, I saw it 116-112 Pac

I could see anywhere from 114-114 to 117-110 Pac. I personally didn't score the 9th round 10-8 in his favor, but many did.

I had the commentary off during the fight. I had it 115-112 Pac. However, given the fact that I did give Pac the 9th 10-8, my score could have been 115-113 Pac. Furthermore, there were many close rounds where Horn's aggression / grappling could have tipped it in the eyes of some people.

It was too close to call a robbery but I do think that Horn got the homefield gift.

I also do not think that Pac should rematch Horn in Brisbane. The Aussie is too big and grapples too much for Pac at this stage. Pac should go to 140 and fight someone like Burns in the UK.

Leave Horn to Hitman Jr.

Cracking atmosphere it sounded. The Aussies love an outdoor scrap .

I've been a Manny fan since Bob Sherriden couldn't pronounce his name.
But that Manny could throw combinations of 5-8 and even 10 punches.
The Manny I saw last night pretty much threw single shots, and missed many by miles. Horn made him miss more than a 17-0 fighter has any right to.
I'd love to give Horn credit for that, but in the main, it was Manny who was too blame.
Too slow, too inactive, too passive.
Horn was too fast, too busy and too tough.

Have compubox provided a full round by round break down so far? I know in round 1 they had Pacquiao out landing Horn (10 connects to 9), Pacquiao was 30/79 in round 9, 12/44 in round 10 (out landing Horn 9/63 in 10), Horn 8 out of 67 in round 12.

But no round by round break down....which would be VERY interesting to look at... I take punch stats with a grain of salt because they are crap, but would be nice to see what Compubox actually said on a round by round basis...then we can go over the round. Shocked that Pacquiao "out landed" Horn in round given there was a flurry on the ropes where Horn got 3 or 4 good body shots through

No I believe it comes to 114-113 for Horn.

I'd be curious to know what one of the 7 rounds is Ezzard gave to Horn. I'll bet I could guess the other 6.

Compubox is just some lad sitting at a computer clicking a mouse every time he thinks a punch lands

Iirc Its 2 guys, one for each fighter...so they don't even get the consistency of it being the same for both fighters. It's hilarious bad, but for some reason people rely on it as a definitive thing.

Probably a few lads. A few counting punches thrown, jabs and "power punches" and a few counting punches landed.

Either way, its nothing to take seriously.

PS Jamie McDonnell is bang average, everyone can see that and here on the British board we tend to call it how it is we're not deluded about one or another fighter. But what has Jamie McDonnell got to do with Pac vs Horn I really don't know, you're just gobbing off again. Idiot.

I guess this just shows that you see what you like sometimes in boxing. If you come in with even a slight allegiance to one fighter you're gona see his work more and score for his work. A one-sided commentary can really help in confirming this. This is all I'm seeing from these people who think Pac by 4 rounds in this case.

I'm not a Pac fanboy, he's been rank average in his last few fights and so I was watching and scoring for punches landed, plus aggression and workrate. I saw an old legend of the sport just get roughed up by a younger, stronger man and it wasn't nice to see, he got outworked for the most part and tried to win on counters and the odd flashy punch against a workrate guy. I'll have to watch this one again and try and see it from pac's side of things. I think the 2 x 115-113 Horn cards were very fair.

I've never liked Pacquiao. There were times in the fight when I thought Horn knocking him out was a real possibility and I was excited at the thought.

There seems to be a correlation between which broadcast people watched and how they scored. I thought it was a very close fight and had Pac edging it. I don't think it was an awful decision, but, likewise, I'm not at all seeing how Horn won clear like some suggested. He was very physical and clearly made Pac uncomfortable, but he also missed a lot of shots and was getting countered regularly.

Crowd response probably played a part too. The crowd was obviously pro-Horn so that helped him as people cheered his work. To be fair the crowd also went mental in Round 9 for Pacman nearly finishing it, but apart from that I can't remember many big responses to Pac's work.

Yes...but think of how many people have said they turned the volume down because they can't stand Teddy. I know I saw "Watching the fight on mute, don't wanna hear Teddy" or some variation on that more than a dozen times last night.

I thought by the end of rnd 6 it was 4rnds horn , 1 rnd paccy and a drawn rnd ,, after that Paccy started to go up a gear but so did Horn , Paccy won rnd 9 i think it was , and won it easy hurting Horn but next rnd paccy was spent and Horn recovered , and this was the key issue for the last 6 rnds , paccy would only work in spurts Horn was younger , bigger and fitter , and worked for th full 3 minuites ,, FOR ME IT WAS CLOSE BUT hORN DEFINETLY DESERVED THE NOD .. What did raise my eybrows was the 9th , Paccy clearly won it and clearly hurt HORN , but the ref coming to the cornr and telling Horn , show me more or i'm stopping it was a bit premature , after all he had won probably 6 of the previous rnds .

Yep, I was thinking the ref was very keen to stop it. Would have been a disgrace if he'd done that, although Horn went ragged it was a world title fight. Ludicrous really. Then the ref coming over at the end of the 10th still giving Horn concerning looks and saying 'is he ok then'? After Horn had just clearly won the 10th round! The reaction of the Horn corner was funny, "he's just won the round, get out of town!"

I thought the ref was gona do his bit for the Arum money fighter, but thankfully that didn't happen.

I saw bent bobs handiwork in the bent ref spoiling to stop a fantastic fight prematurely and has his richard steele moment......nasty piece of work
