Mods, can I ask what is going on at all? I know ye are doing this out of your own time but it’s gone beyond a joke and I don’t know why I’m getting so worked up about it.

It’s regarding threads about the Jamie McDonnell - Inoue fight;

There was a thread created a number ofdays ago about this fight which had 30-40 posts which has just been deleted!

Wesshaw then decided to create a thread of his own and despite being advised there was already a thread about the fight he ignored this and continued to post tweets and updates about the fight to keep his thread at the top of the board. This was correctly deleted as it was a duplicate.

Now there is ANOTHER brand new thread about the fight with a new poll.

I mean what the actual f...?!

Would it not have been common sense to leave the original thread and delete Wes’s duplicate?? I had offered an opinion of the fight in the original thread, do I now have to go back in and write it again in the brand new thread?

He's got a week off, I assume the last poll he created was when he was in the process of being given a break.

I don't really understand what value he adds, he offers zero opinion on boxing and 99% of his posts are embedded tweets and youtube links with no commentary. Every other post of his ends in a ? ellipses or a :TU:

About time but I still don’t see why there was a need to delete the original McDonnell - Inoue thread where there was a proper discussion going on about the fight.

We don't need a new thread every time this Michael Benson lad tweets a gypsy grapevine.
Fantasy Fights needs a sub forum I think. Couldn't give a shiz unless it's confirmed.

They initially merged the threads which was fine. But I see now it's all gone.

I'd guess that wasn't intentional. The two threads got merged before it went AWOL.

To be balanced, I don't understand the other kid either. It's largely polls or articles from elsewhere, not sure if he's written them or not. At least he engages in the thread with his own opinions/ideas.

All they need to do is stop new threads on a Saturday and it would confine all the chat to one thread for the fight(s) in question. It's not like anyone needs to refer back to it once the fight is done with.

All that bumping stuff is pretty childish and smells of attention seeking/validation.

Hopefully it'll been addressed now as it's been getting worse week by week with last Saturday the worst by far.

Hopefully but I doubt it. The guy in question seems to take pleasure in causing havoc.

And I don’t mean to be having a pop off the mods either. They are all good guys who do a good service to the board in their free time. I just don’t see the sense in deleting a decent thread nearly 3 pages in.

True. It's a boxing forum and annoying when it's turned into one man's boxing page.

He does seem a tad obsessive

Perhaps there should be a minimum character limit. So if someone does just keep posting embedded links etc, they also need to add comment. Then it would be shown who is abusing the system and not if they can actually string a few words together about what they've posted and why.

There should be a maximum character limit for some posters!

Threads about fights that are rumoured or that are not official should be banned.

Yeah you click "chris eubank jr vs chavez jr" and see that its just someone saying it would be a good fight to make. Annoying. Rumoured fights are ok though

Mimmy wrote: 04 Mar 2018, 17:01 You know fellas i read all these posts and it upsets that people feel the way they do. Us mods dont get paid for any of our services and to be honest today of all days it pisses me off.

Im working full time and moderating a forum to the best of my ability, with other mods who have lives too.

Ive spoken to other mods today regarding issues over topic title changes and polls that simply do not need to be here.

No topics titles are to be changed, unless it is vital, that should never be so titles remain the same throughout. Any changed topic titles, inform any mod either on here or via PM.

I'm now hoping after a little chat that polls will not be put up willy nilly, with any possible fight that could happen. If a fight is on the cards, of course a poll can be created.

changing thread titles is the main thing that annoys posters. I was the first one to make a fuss about it a while back, perhaps I have a shorter fuse about it but it was a matter of time before the rest of the forum got annoyed. Simply put, you click on a thread about an upcoming fight and start reading and you realize you are reading posts from a month ago when there was no opponent announced and people are theorizing about the opponent. You click on a rbr thread and start reading and again you are reading posts from months ago and have to trawl through to find current posts. Im glad this has been addressed. I dont really mind the polls that much, changing thread titles was the main thing
