One champion - one division.
Optimum - 12 divisions, maximum - 14 divisions.
I would like to see these changes : SMW - 172, LHW - 185, CW - 210, HW + 210.
Unfortunately for us...it'll never happen without every boxing fan participating in some organized action.
All the alphabet orgs make so much money on fees and promotions. Who's going to give up their seat? (frankly I wish they all would). This also impacts getting the best fights, or demanded fights. When it becomes a business, it sucks.
Unfortunately for us - I agree with you. Boxing is already half-dead sport.
Boxing has so far proved itself unkillable. Despite the efforts of so many to kill it.

That's because guys like us love the sport and never abandon it, despite its corruption.

The IBF, WBA,WBC and WBO need more championship sanctioning fees. There are only 10 weight classes in the thirty five pounds between 105 lb. Minimumweight and 140 lbs. Jr. Welterweight. . . .I am calling for more weight divisions. . . .at 102 lbs. the Ant-weight classs, At 100 lbs. the Midget-weight class and the 98 lb. Weakling-weight class.. . . .more can be added at a later time. Perhaps the Micro-weight class and the Atom-weight class.. . . .Junior divisions can also be made at every pound so that every boxer can fight for a title.
More heavyweight classes, less lightweight classes. I've been going on about this for years. The teeny weeny fellers have their weight classes separated by a precious 2 or 3 pounds, and the light heavyweight div. has its parameters set at a ridiculously small 7 pounds, 168-175. Meanwhile a guy weighing 201 is expected to get in the ring with the 260 pound 6'9" giants they have now. There is no place in boxing for a man ~ 200-210 to try to get to the top unless he faces a huge handicap fighting much bigger guys. The whole weight category setup is antiquated and illogical and crooked (making more "championship" fights in countries where small fighters predominate). The weight classes should be completely redone in a rational way by percentage increments, for example each class increasing 10%, or whatever, over the next lower class. But I've been saying this over and over for years,

I agree!. . . .However the powers that be could just make it easy and declare every fight a title fight and every pound its own weight class.

Yeah, boxing is morphing with wrasslin anyway - with roided up fighters all with goofy nicknames appearing at filmed prefight encounters where they are expected to glare and yell at each other and better yet even push and try to attack each other, and act crazy. And there are story lines about how they hate each other, and prolonged showboat entrance spectacles with them coming in in masks and fancy costumes, and fighting dirty, and pretend refs who are really choreograph directors for the rigged fights. Might as well be WWE or WWF. All it lacks is guys hitting each other with folding chairs. Maybe that will be next. Wrasslin used to have all these regional championships so there were "world championships" all over the place, one for every region, each controlled by a different mug, just like boxing's alphabet outfits!

I never thought of it that way!!! LOL! Maybe soon we'll see other fighters charge into the ring and outside interference.
