Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
Father time catches up with everyone eventually and sometimes underdogs defeat past-their-prime shot versions of more talented fighters.
Haye's ankle gave in again and he has also lost his resilience. David's skills have also eroded. He will retire now.
Bellew fought well and has earned his praise.

I'm right there with you. The main reason I've disliked him so much is all of the excuses by him or his fans.
His heavyweight record is not that impressive yet all I read is he is a top 5 in the division.
Based off of what???

I don't like him for all the times he's pulled out of fights after massive sh*t talking. I'll never forget it, and I'll never like him as a fighter or as a man.tiny_acres wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 18:12I'm right there with you. I was wrong .
David Haye punished himself.
I am sad because it is evident that Haye-Fury will never happen.

I don't like David Haye, but his win over Chisora STILL holds strong even today. A lesser Chisora arguably beat Whyte who is top 10 currently.tiny_acres wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 18:12I'm right there with you. The main reason I've disliked him so much is all of the excuses by him or his fans.

And with both Wilder and AJ’s schedule already tied up for the immediate future, I suspect that it’s in the interest of Haye and Bellew to ensure their rematch ventures into the later rounds in order to justify a potentially lucrative third bout to decide the outcome of their trilogy.
I can’t help thinking that if David Haye is able to raise his game and turn back the clock this weekend; he won’t try to stop Bellew early, even if he’s capable of it, because it’s not in his best interest to do so.
I must admit though, the video of Haye’s most recent sparring footage (available on the Sky Sports website) is fairly impressive.
His footwork has improved, his head movement/reflexes is impressive and he was also using the jab effectively.
It looks like he’s going to box Bellew rather than attempt to overwhelm him by engaging in toe-to-toe trench warfare.

I don't like Haye either but he DID retire both John Ruiz AND Nicolay Valuev. Every fan of HW boxing should thank him for that, grudgingly or not.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 18:18I don't like David Haye, but his win over Chisora STILL holds strong even today. Actually, there's more chance than ever of it happening now knowing Fury.
Despite Haye's denials I think his right leg was a problem. Maybe it's a permanent one because it's weird to see Haye swinging wildly like that now in both fights. His stance and footwork look shot too.
David Haye could be just the opponent Tyson Fury might be looking for. Oh wait! There's still that dangerous right hand. Maybe next year.
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
..not that I think much of Bellew, but I'm still thankful to him for hopefully retiring David Haye..

Yep, my prediction was wrong and so was yours. It was less about the prediction...more about the content of your post that was humorous.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 18:53Yep, my prediction was wrong and so was yours. I'm one of the few that never rated Chisora.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 18:18I don't like David Haye, but his win over Chisora STILL holds strong even today. Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
The problem with your mockery, is that it's solely based on hindsight.
Your opinion wasn't much different to mine before the bout and nor did you ridicule this post at the time I posted it.
Is that what you're going to do now? Wait until the outcome of fights have been determined and then mock the posts of those that predicted incorrectly?
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
Excuse me! There is nothing wrong with my mockery! Please retract that statement. If you look at your post, you make it seem like there is some gentlemen’s agreement to stretch the fight out...boxing is serious..haven’t you heard that from golovkin? Don’t disrespect it by saying that fights are staged! Also I watched the footage of Haye sparring Malik Scott...the minute footage of Haye sparring a stationary Scott...where you comment on his jab and movement....I watch it after the bout....your post is humorous. Your post IS hunouros because of hindsight...because of Hayes performance...don’t you ever, ever attempt to undermine my mockery!
