Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
Apparently Wilder will be ringside on the 18th.... Maybe it is a goer although I'll believe it when I see it...

Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
I don't recall anyone coming back from the straight right that felled Stiverne in their rematch? The windmill, sure, but from memory his fights have always been over soon after that blistering right.
He doesn't land it all that often, it's fair to say.

Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
well okay just for example the last fight, he dropped ortiz without windmilling him, then almost got knocked out himself a few rounds later and arguably lost every round between scoring the first kd and getting the stoppage

I'm not sure where any of the big three are really. People say that Joshua has the best record, but to me it's a lot like Calzaghe's pre-wilderness years if Wlad's his Eubank. Sure, he has a better record than Wilder and Fury, but he desperately needs them on it, as they do him on theirs. Lotta treading water at the minute. Povetkin's okay, but it's obviously a shame it's a bit late for him.
If Wilder-Fury happens that'll be one off the list, and that's worth celebrating.

Fury is still talking a good game; his problem is, he isn't fighting a good game at the moment.
No meaningful fights in over 2.5 years & he's still jabbering.
Saying that, if this actually true, fair play to him.
I'm fed up of him saying what he's going to do to Wilder/Joshua; I want to see him actually try to do it in the ring.

"Listen here Wilder you chump. Fight me. I'm going to mess around on the outside and tie you up when you get in close. I'm going to punish you with 6-10 slapping punches and try and keep out of range. The beauty of a big man staying light on his feet and not putting any power into his shots. The crowd will boo believe you me."Syntax Error wrote: ↑02 Aug 2018, 00:58 I'm fed up of him saying what he's going to do to Wilder/Joshua; I want to see him actually try to do it in the ring.
I see Whyte has called bullshit on it and offered to fight Fury instead

It's not almost done it's done. That's what Fury said. All they have to do is both win their next fight.
Let's see what happens.

Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
Wilder has a punchers chance and boy can he punch. He would have to knock Fury out though because Fury is much the better boxer. Fury on points IF he's physically and mentally 100%. You never know with Fury.
Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
i cant see fury getting his sharpness back that quickly. and wilder might ko him even at his best.
maybe fury needs a massive fight to get truly motivated, and they both want to take some of the wind out of the sails of aj.
i still have my doubts.

Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
Hard one with Fury , remember Cunningham put him on his arse , , BUT yet he beat Klichtko ,,,, I really do think he needs to go get himself an experienced trainer though , before he starts progressing too much further up the ladder , Guy he's got certainly got confidence , but not the experience , plus alarm bells would be ringing after i heard him say in an interview , something along the lines of , my money should start coming in shortly .
Guy has obviously been captianing the ship on a lose weight , get fit level along with others , but now Fury is there it needs a profesional experienced trainer to start on the technical level , Heard this present trainer talk about he knows what changes they need to make Tysons listening ect ect ,,, Yet when i see Tyson pissing about on pads , bag or whatever , you can spot lots of mistakes, he better not get in the habit of doing against the likes of AJ or Wilder ,,, Remember wether its the bag , pads or sparring . practice does'nt make perfect ,, PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT ,
iN OTHER WORDS , ANY COACH AT THIS LEVEL SHOULD BE MAKING SURE everything IS DONE PREFECTLY

DOUBLE POST
Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
Probably a “Buster” Douglas v Holyfield caliber disaster.
Tyson’s fitness is gone and mentally he doesn’t seem to have it anymore.
All that’s left is the circus. Maybe he should fight Lee McAllister, first,

Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
How can you tell that?
In the last 2 years he has only fought a handful of rounds against a poor opponent.
You may be correct, but until he goes deep against a top level opponent we wont know for sure.

Thankfully Wilder's boxing skills are appalling. Even Ortiz was easily outboxing him and he's fat, old (95?) and slowSyntax Error wrote: ↑02 Aug 2018, 00:58 Fury is still talking a good game; his problem is, he isn't fighting a good game at the moment.

He's extremely explosive, which his team are banking on. If AJ or Fury are savvy enough to avoid the righthand, they both beat him... as long as Fury is fit enough to be able to move for 12 rounds, which is an unknown.

Sure he has had issues outside of the ring, but he has shown he has the mental strength to win a huge fight away from home.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑03 Aug 2018, 06:14The man won the title and imploded. What more evidence is required that he doesn’t have strong mental fortitude?
Not to mention, the desire to get back in shape and have another crack.
There is no reason to believe that he can't dig deep to win more big fights.

I actually don’t think he should currently be allowed to box given his physical condition.
It would be interesting to see a contest against Wilder but that is on the assumption that Fury can massively improve his current situation first.

He's looking pretty trim. He's in better shape that a lot of HW's with licences
Re: Fury vs Wilder "almost done"
He went off the rails. Gained all that weight. Lost his activity and momentum. Couldn’t even make it to his first title defense. I’d be stunned if he got anything close to his old form back.

Didn't follow all the details at the time, but didn't it turn out the pull outs from the Klitschko rematch were due to the positive drug tests?Autobarn wrote: ↑03 Aug 2018, 07:51He went off the rails. He (and hughie) got popped for nandrolone first which he claimed came from eating uncastrated boar (make of that what you will) but also popped again for bugle.Didn't follow all the details at the time, but didn't it turn out the pull outs from the Klitschko rematch were due to the positive drug tests?
