I know its gettin boring now,i like fury he brings something different to the heavyweight division but people like micky who bashes joshua then praises fury, they make me wanna drag the worst of furys record or performance to prove a point of its apples and oranges, wlad didnt turn up against fury but thats not furys fault he can only perform against who stands in front of him. Who else thinks the wlad that fought Joshua would of gave fury a nightmare of fight? I do,up until wlad who did fury really fight who was world level? Like i said at the start i like furymaverick23 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2018, 12:50I worked in a bookies for 4 years when I was at university, and have been going to the races since I was a kid. Sounds about right.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑19 Aug 2018, 12:49 Fury outboxing Wilder, then getting stopped by AJ who then gets caught with a big one by Wilder...
Throw in rematches & the occasional wobble against contenders like Whyte, Usyk etc...
That'l do for me for ~2years until the next gen HW's step up.

Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Form in boxing bears no resemblance to that of horse racing. Styles make fights. Depending on how fighters are beaten it can really affect their subsequent performances and sometimes when a boxer loses their unbeaten record they never have the same desire.mickey1975 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2018, 14:29So how has the form worked out?maverick23 wrote: ↑18 Aug 2018, 12:50I worked in a bookies for 4 years when I was at university, and have been going to the races since I was a kid. Kevin Johnson KO’d Pianeta, Fury beats a younger Kevin Johnson but then he struggles to put a dent into Pianeta over 12 rounds. Does that mean anything for Fury?! Of course it doesn’t.
Re: AJ’s opponents. Parker was an undeafeated champ, coming off a narrow win against Hughie (preceded by a narrow win against Ruiz) and few people would argue he was top 5 heavyweight. I think if AJ went for it he could have stopped him but he seemed content coasting in 2nd gear. Parker then fought Whyte with Whyte fighting far more aggressively than AJ did. It was a good competitive fight between 2 top top 10 (or top 6) heavyweights and could have gone either way.
AJ won every round against Takam for me and was the second person to stop him (albeit it was a dodgy one). He seemed to be taking his time given he blew his load against Klitschko and when he realised he had enough let to finish the fight he stepped up going for the finish.
Takam is and was a fringe top 10 fighter. I had him comfortably beating Chisora before he got caught - it was a cracking shot.
Just because Chisora caught him doesn’t make me think any worse of AJ’s result. Just the same as Klitschko getting knocked down 3 times and stopped by AJ doesn’t make me think less of Fury’s great win against him.
For what it’s worth if the Fury who fought Hammer, Chisora 2 and Klitschko were to fight AJ or Wilder, my money would be on Fury.
Unfortunately I don’t think he’ll be that good again and I’d go for AJ to win and I’d have the Wilder fight as a 50:50.

Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
I have to say, that Wilder's style is going to be a big of a nightmare for Fury, I'd probably be less surprised if he beat AJ, as his movement could give AJ a lot of trouble.
Wilder's like an out of control helicopter with those huge windmilling shots of his, his height and reach, make it hard for
Also, whilst Fury is mobile for a man of his size, he's rather overrated in that respect, he's not exactly nijinksy out there. Pianetta seemingly came with zero ambition last night, either he didn't believe he could win, or he didn't try to, maybe a little of both, but even then Fury found hiself backed up against the ropes against a plodding and predictable fighter throwing very few punches. Obviously he may well fight a different fight against Wilder, but I find it hard to see him staying out of harms way for 12 rounds, and he's not got the best of chins.

Agree with James: if there's any who-beats-who about this, I'd go with Wilder beating Fury, Fury beating Joshua, and Joshua beating Wilder. But that's all with everyone in their prime, waking up on the right side of bed in fresh pyjamas, etc.
As it stands, I make Wilder a heavy favourite against Fury and a narrow favourite against Joshua. I think Fury loses to both, but has a better chance against the slower-footed Joshua.

Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Wondering about the logic of that - in the first paragraph you say Joshua beating Wilder (as long as everyone is in their prime etc), paragraph two you say you make Wilder a favourite against Joshua.Grilling Machine wrote: ↑19 Aug 2018, 22:08 Agree with James: if there's any who-beats-who about this, I'd go with Wilder beating Fury, Fury beating Joshua, and Joshua beating Wilder. Fury landed 86 against Klitschko and you’ve said before that he school him. Was he also scared to throw punches?

Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Have I really?
Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
I think Fury has the best win on his CV with his trip to Klitschko's fortress.
I felt at the time he could make AJ look a bit silly. I also had concerns over AJ's physique draining him down the stretch. He looked overly muscled to do 12 rounds.
However nowadays the way Fury ballooned so massively, combined with inactivity - whilst AJ's engine has seemingly improved and his demon-like approach to training in the gym, has kind of levelled my opinion on it all.
If Fury regains his form (which has always been patchy even before he left boxing for a bit) then I'd pick him over AJ on points.
But Fury has a lot of IFs about him lately. He the is better boxer of the lot but he isn't a banger - and AJ & Wilder can both really crack.
I think Fury pecks them both to death or is totally flattened whilst probably ahead.
I don't think there is anything inbetween. But I would say it's all a lot tighter between them now.

Fury has yet to step in with Wilder , its a fight we can all wait and see , i don't think anyone will be suprised if its all about taking the spotlight away from AJ and his up coming fight , so don't be suprised if an injury pops up ,Covfefe wrote: ↑19 Aug 2018, 03:02That’s not true, Fury was banned. He’s signed to fight Widler after a fair comeback, they had it sorted before he even finished the comeback. Can’t argue with that, AJ had all the time in the world to fight Wilder.coneye wrote: ↑19 Aug 2018, 02:51 You can argue Fury , AJ , and Wilder are the best 3 heavyweights , and all the rest are B grade gate keepers , , But all 3 have fought the B grade gatekeepers and not one of the 3 have fought each other , They have all ducked and dived shouted from the rooftops and pulled out , or made ridiculous demands ,, Alls it says isheavyweight boxing is in a bad state.
Heavyweight boxing is in a far better state now than it was under Wlad's long reign as champion. I guess you simply can’t please everyone.
.Heavy weight boxing as been in the doldrums for years now , Klitchko was'nt excatly a exciting era , but todays crop are more about ducking each other and talking a good fight
I don't know about not pleasing everyone , i think its more about the current generation of boxing fans are easily pleased , its more about the hype , buildup , and u tube bullshit , than the actual fight .
Suppose , my generation were spoilt , especielly with the heayweights , ,

The second para's my prediction, but if I'm wrong and there's a triangle instead, the first para's my prediction for that. A vague prediction, though, 'cause I can't see it happening if I'm honest. I think one of the three's gonna come out on top overall, and right now that feels like a toss-up between Wilder (my slight favourite) and Joshua, with Fury in third.
But then again, who's most likely to retain their form after their first loss? I've no idea.
Con, I'm more excited for this than I would be Joshua-Wilder, so I hope you're wrong! I can definitely envisage a pull-out. Joshua-Pov's a good complementary fight, and there's even a small chance that Pov has a bit more left than we think and lands a peach. If the winners of these two fights meet in April I'll be very happy about that.

If the idea of Fury-Wilder was to take the spotlight away from AJ and his up coming fight, it has been an unqualified success already.

I have a sneaky feeling well look back at this period and laugh that we all had it so competitive.
Joshua can and just might walk through both of them.

Wouldn't surprise me. He's nowhere near ready for Wilder. Perhaps he never will behandsofstone wrote: ↑25 Aug 2018, 07:11 Fat Dan reporting that someone from the Fury camp has told him Fury is having second thoughts

I do find it strange that they announce the fight, announce that it’s going to be on BT PPV but they haven’t agreed a date, site or have a signed deal.

Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
I think most would say he needs another couple of fights. Make the Wilder fight late Spring/early Summer.
The problem is they’ve backed themselves into a corner a little bit with the announcement of the fight and saying it’ll be next for both at the end of the year.
If the fight doesn’t happen next and Fury ends up fighting Charr or someone like that then it’ll be pretty embarrassing for him him/FW.

agree, will make it look like it was just phony and a pr ploy
ya, because only hearn and aj cant be trusted, those dishonest pussies
