Wtf are you talking about "casuals"? Do one.chrisnew86 wrote: ↑26 Sep 2018, 07:52RKY wrote: ↑25 Sep 2018, 11:02The point is this; not only is it a corporate scam that should involve prison time, if that wasn't bad enough, Fast car uses it as spin. He often claims fights "sold out in minutes" - what a joke that is.... that's only because StubHub buy them up in bulk at wholesale price. The line about being sold out in seconds then inflates the price SrubHub can charge.tobyh5 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2018, 10:46
You mean you do not need to explain that your point does fuk all to do with your argument. Who cares whether it is meant to be for real punters blah blah. My point was that he still shifts a fck load of tickets. Whether it was people ripped off by stubhub or people buying face value - PEOPLE ARE STILL BUYING AND ATTENDING!
Eddie Hearn has the easiest job in the world. He's just a yes man for Sky who are probably the best sports promoters in history, and punters like you swallow everything fast eddie says. Bet you were first 1 to crack your wallet open for Brook vs Gavin ppv.
You crack me up mate......
Trying so hard to not come across as a dreaded "casual"![]()
This is a boxing forum with boxing fans, most people on here fucked sky off a long while ago and know full well what Eddie and Matchroom are all about.
You don't need to ram it down everybody's throat like your some master of the universe
You are just contrarian and like to disagree with everything anybody says
Barry Hearn says no rush to fight Wilder or Fury....

Re: Barry Hearn says no rush to fight Wilder or Fury....
Just got round to listening to this.
Barry just seemed to be highlighting the fact that Joshua could make a fortune fighting just about anyone and that if Wilder or Fury want a piece or that money, they will have to take whatever offer Matchroom see fit to give them.
Not the most endearing point of view, but not necessarily incorrect either, unfortunately.
Warren tried to get him to say something he can later twist but it essentially turned into a shouting match and the interviewer had to jump in.
Moral of the story, if Queensbury and Matchroom ever wish to successfully negotiate a fight, keep Barry and Frank as far away from eachother as possible.

If Warren is really that deluded and that much of an idiot he should be fired by Tyson Fury immedietly. What an absolute retard, he should be ashamed of himself and so should the diskjockey and all the other kids that try to trick an old men into saying something which is none of his business.
Maybe they should be brought to court for blackmailing and destroying professional boxing as a sport, this might cost AJ milions of dollars and that radio channel and the guy Fury hired should be able to pay that money back.
Re: Barry Hearn says no rush to fight Wilder or Fury....
Wilder has a rematch clause.
If Fury wins he won't be available to fight Joshua next

2015 Fury - I think so. 2018 Fury - highly doubtful I reckon. 2019 Fury - Now that's interesting.coneye wrote: ↑24 Sep 2018, 14:32 Haern really got the hump , did'nt he , theres no way is Fury - AJ ever gonna get made , Warren wants 50-50 and he's NEVER going to get it , IF they beat Wilder , and there is a good chance Fury can do it ,, The more i look at this fight the more i see Fury outboxing Wilder .
Warren might say he wants 50/50 but hopefully he'll be a bit more realistic when the time comes, if it does.

If it's purely a cash-out wouldn't he have taken aim at Joshua?
As much as I think he's an idiot, I've no doubt he thinks he can win. He's so damn persuasive he's almost got me believing he can ... almost.
It did make me laugh when he told Wilder, Finkel and Dibella that the only reason they wanted to fight him (Tyson) is that they thought he was an easy fight, and if they thought he was anywhere near ready they wouldn't have taken it.
That is exactly how I see it. Perhaps Tyson isn't such an idiot because he realizes if he has two more fights against decent level fighters and proves himself back to his best, then he won't get a look-in because Wilder will be scouring the landscape for easier pickings.

Re: Barry Hearn says no rush to fight Wilder or Fury....
Agree i tnink if he were to fight and show big improvement in 2019, Wilder would,nt touch him with a barge pole , they want to grab Fury now , get his name on the resume and ,use it has a bargaining tool ,,, thing is though Fury is a good boxer and mover, Wilder is a big banger and shite boxer, but really except fo Ortiz has,nt fought anyone half decent , This is a classic boxer ,,,v,,, puncher fight and i do have a feeling , Wilder is gonna get beat , its alright saying when he catches fury its goodnight ,, but i can see Fury making him move like he,s never had too before , and possiblt gassing out , in fact i ca see Fury training hard for a quick mobile fight , and looking for a stoppage against a tired Wilder .Deoncy has,nt got the greatest chin either
Re: Barry Hearn says no rush to fight Wilder or Fury....
The Ortiz fight might be another example of Wilder's team trying to find the perfect balance between getting a respectable opponent to put a good name in the resume, while taking as little risk as possible. They probably figured Luis looked like sh1t against Scott and Allen and being at least 39 years old (Officially - he could be up to ten years older) that they'd found the ideal patsy - do you begin to see a pattern forming? - but it nearly backfired. He may not have been the Ortiz that dismantled and crushed Bryant Jennings in such ominous style, but the old boy had enough left to scare the sh1t out of Haymon, Dibella, Finkel and Sulaiman.
Wilder really impressed me with his fighting heart, his ability to withstand fierce and sustained punishment, and his excellent stamina. The man can fight, no question about it.
Team Wilder are at it again, selecting who they have identified as the highest prestige/ lowesr risk fighter available, and again they have probably just about got it right. Tyson is the better boxer by far but unless he reverts to his old risky style, (sitting down on his punches, and in doing so becoming so much easier to hit) then he's not going to discourage Deontay never mind hurt him. Neither do I think Fury outlasts him, so that leaves hoping to outbox him for 12 rounds while not getting caught with the ferocious right hand. It's a big ask for a man who hasn't had a fight in three years (No he hasn't - I said 'a fight')
I think the Fury that beat Wlad would be too much for Wilder, but how much of that guy is the 2018 Fury?
One thing I will say. When the fight was first mooted for this year I was screaming 'mismatch' but Fury has now got me believing that while he's a definite underdog, he's at least in with a shout

Re: Barry Hearn says no rush to fight Wilder or Fury....
If Fury comes in light and goes on the backfoot I'm sure he'll get tagged. I actually think he'd be better off coming in heavier and trying to spoil his way through at close range. Mythical 2015 Fury or any other.
He doesn't have much height and reach over Wilder, and he's giving away speed and power. His vaunted defence has so far hinged on his long arms and legs as much as craft, and I don't think he has the head movement to outbox Wilder for the full 12 from distance. What he does have over Wilder is weight and strength.
It's this year's most exciting fight on paper for me, but I suspect it'll be disappointing from an action point of view. I'm still looking forward to it massively because of their styles and personalities.

I must confess that as I become reconciled to the fact that we're never going to see Wilder face a truly proven version of Fury, I'm slowly warming to the idea of this 'consolation prize'.
Part of me was rather hoping this fell apart so Wilder has to look elsewhere for an opponent. The fans aren't going to be too happy with any more cab-drivers, he can probably get away with Breazeale because he's Sulaiman's (Haymon's more likely) selection as Wilder's PBC mandatory, after that there's a serious danger he may have no choice but to fight someone who's in his prime and actually dangerous.
