Re: A+ level active boxers

There can be divisions without any A+ fighters in them, the way I'd look at it.KiwiRider wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 16:19You think there is a SMW out there with a better than 50/50 chance of beating Callum Smith?
Did you watch Zurdo against a guy who hasn't fought anyone past journey men last night? Or the first time they fought?
Callum Smith is a beast at SMW!
There is no way Bob Arum would be dumb enough to even contemplate putting Zurdo in the ring with him...
SMW is so weak, almost empty division recently. Sad, but true. No fighter at 168 deserves to be considered A level.KiwiRider wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 16:19You think there is a SMW out there with a better than 50/50 chance of beating Callum Smith?

I'd drop Wilder, Fury and Davis off of that list, and I'd add Naoya Inoue. As you mention some guys seem to be on the verge of possibly getting there like a Prograis, but the bubble my burst before they find themselves walking with the true Elites.ValMar wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 06:34 This is my list :
Joshua
Wilder
Fury
Usyk
Canelo Alvarez
Golovkin
Spence
Crawford
M. Garcia
Lomachenko
Davis
Some fighters might be on this list very soon (Gassiev, Briedis, Prograis).
Pacquiao has been A+ level, definitely, but right now he is B+, Rigo, too............
Canelo is an excellent fighter, like him or not. I like him, and dislike his team.gilgamesh wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 16:53I'd drop Wilder, Fury and Davis off of that list, and I'd add Naoya Inoue. Not sure if I'd have Canelo as an A+ either. He's definitely an A or a B+ at worst, but I'm not sure he's A+. I'd consider A+ to be the Elite of the Elite.
He's definitely an A+ draw though, and a cash cow for the promoters.

No one at heavyweight because the top three guys can all beat each other on any given day.
None at LHW
Callum Smith at SMW.
None at MW
None at SWW
Terrance Crawford at WW
Errol Spence "A".
None at SLW
Loma at LW
Mikey "A"
Berchelt at SFW.
None at FW (Santa Cruz "A")
None at SBW
Nery at BW (PEDS aside)
Inoue "A"
Not familiar with SFlyW
Shiro a killer at LFW
Moonsri at MinW. Guy held this title for four years. 33y/o undefeated in 52 fights.
Thanks Kiwi! coming from you means mucho!KiwiRider wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 22:53Nice oneoogiebe wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 17:12 Usyk is the most definite for me as you see one loss each for the next three guys in the division and all of them lost to Usyk.

I think when your talking A+ you have to be very selective like your list
If you don't think Usyk is A+, Crawford isn't A+. Crawford looked like utter crap against a one-legged Benavidez who was beat by Herrera prior. Usyk has never looked bad against anyone on the level of Benavidiez.caldo2025 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2018, 23:56 There’s 2 boxers on that list that I’d give A+’s to and that’s Crawford and Loma. The rest are still not as good as they can or in some cases be. Those 2 guys have tools that are mastered.
For instance, Joshua is going to be so much better in 3 years. This guy has all the tools and his biggest one in the chest is his heart. He hasn’t been in the sport long enough but I can’t wait to see how he progresses. He may lose once or twice but all of the great heavyweights lose once in awhile. It’s about the gems you make it out of victorious that make you historic.
You don’t have the boxing IQ to argue with, sorry. You say too many dumb things. Try someone else though. They might pass the time with you. I’m just too smart for a discussion with you. Sorry, I’m honest and direct. It saves us both time. Good luck though.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑16 Dec 2018, 01:06If you don't think Usyk is A+, Crawford isn't A+.
