Yes, it is a silly rule. Of course, I prefer as few rules as possible. Too many rules are what confuses things.
Oh for f*cks sake, there's only one f*cking rule when ranking, namely "you can only re-rank fighters who just fought". That's it. So you got one f*cking rule to work with. That should match your preferences.

Now stop just pissing around for the sake of pissing around.
In fairness, the question asks if Fury's position should change. So if you think it should then Ruiz does go to 1 because the forum voted Fury over Wilder so those two should move in harmony.

Ahhhm, no. :brick:

Just because Fury had an unexpectedly tough night it does not mean that Wilder's form has also suddenly dropped off. Besides this is not rocket science, it's just one freaking rule. Re-rank Wilder when Wilder fights next.

And besides, the whole Ruiz at #1 is totally bogus. That would mean you think Ruiz is a better fighter than either Wilder or Fury and should be starting favourite in such a matchup. Well, if you do, hell I'll give you even money on that fight if you're so convinced Ruiz is better. And if you don't think that is fair, then it means you don't think Ruiz is better than Wilder or Fury really, so why the effort to rank him 1.

It will be interesting to see where people rank Ruiz if he loses the re-match and his vanquisher Parker beats Chisora. I'm guessing it will suddenly be around #7 or so, behind Parker. And all this Ruiz #1 nonsense will be put to sleep.

And if he beats AJ again, then he can stay at #3, cos Fury has heart and reach and skill and Wilder has dynamite in both hands.

Conan, I don't disagree with your opinion on Fury not moving down, but the question asked if he should.

If someone thought he should then you can make a case that Wilder should move down too, after all he beat Fury fairly recently.

The forum ranking has shown me one thing: opinion in silly because we all have different views, I will agree with you 7 times perhaps out of 10 and disagree 3 times, others the same and you end up with mess. I knew this would all get in a mess a few months back, if you ask top 10 opinion you get reasonable census, top 15 it gets a bit wild, now we are asking if the number 31 defeating the number 38 should be awarded top 15 status......next week there will be another case.

ffs Wallin lost, it is not like it was really close. Who has Wallin beaten?

Opinions should be taken out and it should be by a set of rules. Then it is the same for everyone.

..with all due respect all these discussions are just a matter of opinion...Mine is that there is no need to change the rules as they had been previously discussed and agreed upon..

I think that the possibility of voting on the unranked vs unranked fights is ok. There is a life outside the top 15. We choose only selected fights. Some people on here believe that only fighters that defeated a top 15 ranked fighters can get voted in, so they always vote the unranked vs unranked fights ''no change'' and that is okay too - it prevents us from ''flavour of the month'' votes, too much changes in ranking and from a mess, the ranking is constant while there are no like half a year periods with no changes.

Ajagba, Dubois are top notch prospects, they defeated other undefeated prospects and still they failed to take Breazeale's #15, despite that Breazeale lost by KO 1 recently. Joyce defeated a previously top 15 ranked opponent (Jennings) and he failed to enter the list too. Now Hunter is close of taking Breazeale's spot, but Hunter was a fighter that was previously already ranked in top 15, he got dropped out of the list due to Ruiz's upset win over Joshua.

So the unranked fighters have an opportunity to enter the list, but their opportunity is quite limited, it is well balanced imo.

p4p ranking is interesting idea...

Deciding on which fights to vote for would be hell tho.

This format just does not work for that.

Maybe just vote for whole list once in every 2 months or something?

I think it would work well in this format, we just have to determine the top 15 and vote on the fights of top 15 fighters + ocasionally on fights of non top 15 fighters that could clearly have impact on the list. If it wouldn't work well enough, the changes would be made, we would think on what to change and it would be decent, imo.

The main question is that if there would be enough people interested in maintaining and voting in this type of ranking.
