Certainly with Calzaghe, the incredible hand speed and fitness compensated for chronically bad hands and an inability to really spar very much. In a way Lennox gets the nod of Calzaghe for the higher profile, but great as Lennox was I think in terms of special abilities Calzaghe was ahead.

Lol Hop was put into a shell, outlanded massively, and turned into a total flopping bitch that night. It amazes me that people think he won that, no way. But I guess, 'omg it's the master boxer bhop, he by default outboxed his opponent, wow he's so crafty' LOL

Cal comfortably beat a Kessler who then beat Froch when they next fought, weak spin by Leppy. Joe dealt with Kess easy in 1 try, Froch took an L and didn't have it easy in either. Even in the rematch when Kess was at the end of the line Carl got pusheed hard and even sagged in round 11.

Joe just had more tools to neutralize Kess

Carl should get more credit for not pulling out of that first Kessler fight after the build up and delay with the ash clouds. And he gave a solid showing as well. Not to make it about the tiresome joe vs Carl debate the fans seem to obsess over, just that credit should be given for keeping the show going. Joe would undoubtedly have pulled out under the same circumstance.

BHop did cleaner work all night, landed counters that werent scored or mentioned by the judges. Meanwhile Calzaghe slapped at air all night. The first round was 10-8 too.

The truth lays somewhere in the middle. B hop was most.def in the fight and landing some eye-catching stuff. But Hopkins was moaning and Joes workrate won it in hindsight

He started well and then just got mauled and bullied, he was mentally broken

Never thought hopkins got untracked. He seemed lost most of the fight.

Guess it's what you like. As I said, on the night I thought b hop won cos joe looked untidy and he was accurate. But i was pissed and on 3 pills. Next day i saw joe won, but not easy

Even if he was accurate he did absolutely f@ck all for like 9 rounds, I don't see any way he won that , he was turned into a total bitch and defo outlanded despite all this accuracy talk

It comes down to what you like , true, and thankfully the judges got that one right and didn't score for crybaby

He lost pretty clearly, but to be fair, he was like 40 something and well on his way down the wrong side of the hill.

Well it was a pretty clear win for Hopkins on my card. The second round is a good example of why I think Hopkins won. Calzaghe got the round on the cards of Lederman/HBO and Sky but what did he do? Nothing, he got countered hard a couple of times and by the end of the second round he had thrown 33 jabs in the fight and landed none.

As for Hopkins Kovalev, I thought that Hopkins wouldn't take the fight because of Kovalevs rep as a puncher and solid output so when he took the fight I thought I must have overlooked something and trusted Hopkins intellect in that there was something he could see that I couldn't.

I'd be happy to go back and look, but Joe took over the fight after the second round. Maybe the back half of three, but I'll go back and look. It's ok to disagree.
