Re “Wlad did nothing:” Fury negated him with movement and light punching. Not pretty, and not popular especially in the heavyweights. But, certainly effective and acceptable when it’s your first title fight, and away from home.

Certainly put Fury in the big leagues but obviously it reflects badly on him that he couldn’t handle his success and couldn’t even make it to the rematch.

Yet, he has redeemed himself in the long road back, overcoming the scares against Wilder and Walling to put in that astonishing performance in the Wilder rematch.

If Covid has contributed anything to boxing it’s that it will encourage more fights between people from the same country. So, more likely now than ever to get Fury v Joshua. “Perennial contender” Dillian Whyte slipped up vs Povetkin in dramatic fashion, and Fury v Wilder 3 is very unlikely. So let’s see the biggest British fight of all time for all the heavyweight belts.

I can see why Wlad's annoyed, Fury most certainly didn't kick his arse.

For what it's worth, I think Vitali would have been a nightmare for Fury, he threw so many more punches than Wlad, and was very good at range too - there's also no chance Fury could have hurt him, that guy had one hell of a chin on him.

I was a fan of Vitali's not the best level of competition, but extremely hard to beat for any heavyweight in history, would have I believe held his own in any era.

Wlad had better boxing skills, but he was a lot more brittle.

Vitali had a great ability of using his height and range with mauling jabs and one-twos. But Fury is faster, better defensively and he moves better. Fury also had enough size for the inside hustle against Vitali. So, Fury is more versatile than Vitali, he would win the older Klitschko too.

Hmm, I'm really not convinced. He beat Wlad by a hair's breadth when Wlad was right at the end of his career, and that was with almost nothing coming back.

Vitali was a lot more aggressive which would have meant that Fury would have had to have thrown a lot more shots to win the fight. Although Vitali was relatively basic, as you say, he used his height and reach very well indeed, and at his peak was relentless, fearless and had an absolutely titanium chin.

On the inside, I think he would have been up against someone naturally stronger than himself, which would have presented a fairly unique challenge.

I'm not saying Fury couldn't have won, but it would have been a much harder task than beating Wlad.

Fury is vulnerable, clearly. Just see the Cunningham fight. Step in with a short right hand (if tall) or overhand (if shorter) and he's being laid out.

Hasn't fought anyone yet. Wlad didn't throw at all, and Wilder threw shots that were 4ft long.
