dub had 75 am fights and competed in several international tournaments, he's been boxing since he was 9
It was pretty one sided in my view despite the scores. Joyce beat him up and stopped him, legitimately. Joyce rode Dubois' shots, never looked especially bothered, and was incredibly accurate with the jab.jameswilson wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 22:53Joyce’s jab caused Dubois eye to bust. That's fair enough. But I'm guessing he was only fighting as a senior for what a year? Maybe a little more before turning pro. He was already physically imposing at 18 years old so I'm guessing those physical advantages were only enhanced at youth and junior level.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 22:37 dub had 75 am fights and competed in several international tournaments, he's been boxing since he was 9
The only thing better than having some sort of managerial/promotional piece of the world heavyweight champ, is also having a piece of the guy in the other corner. I do think Fwank expects Fury to beat AJ both times they fight but he will have an eye on what is beyond that. He'll be thinking about Fury vs Dubois in 2022. DD could lose and still come again, but it would be promotional nirvana to have that fight happen, it ties up the belts for months, and you have total control. The rivals are on the outside.Finkel wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 22:32I hope that is the game plan, because I question whether it is a smart move positioning Dubois so high up the ranking. I'm glad he is making a come back, and I think Dinu is a good opponent for him. But it will still only be his 17th pro fight (+ limited amateur experience), and they are trying to position him near the top of the WBA rankings. It kind of feels like they have not learnt anything from rushing him up the WBO ladder.gregregegg wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 07:36 Wba reg belt is perfect for Ddd people are saying it’s a path to super champ mando, I don’t think that’s the goal, I think he wants wba reg belt and defend that for a couple of years while he improves. Knows he isn’t ready yet.
Even though real fans no reg belt is trash, billing his fights as world title fights will massively boost there profile.
To me it looks like Warren is just trying to figure out the next quickest route to a money fight with Joshua
If furry beats AJ twice he retires i think. unless between now and then someone blasted onto the scene as a worthy contender. It would require someone having a very very good next 12 months.JimJim2009 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 16:49The only thing better than having some sort of managerial/promotional piece of the world heavyweight champ, is also having a piece of the guy in the other corner. I think it would benefit whoever comes out on top to fight the winner of Usyk v Joyce.gregregegg wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 17:36If furry beats AJ twice he retires i think. unless between now and then someone blasted onto the scene as a worthy contender. I don't suppose Don King gives a monkies but he hasn't long left and in the books that will be written once he's gone, all this stuff is going to make a pretty sad ending to his promotional career. He surely can't need the money and he is carrying on like its the 1970s. He appears to have some legal hold over Lovejoy but it is hard to imagine a more counter productive manager/promoter for a fighter.
yea true cant question that and wont also agree with you on the fight reslut, like you i also had dd up but felt jj is gonna win this , but all i meant by this is if dd is such a bum then why is jj now being loarded about after winning that fight , i rate both by the wayjameswilson wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 22:53Joyce’s jab caused Dubois eye to bust. well it will alawys be brought up no doubt about it , in away he could do with this fight being a scrap just to answer a few questions, yea Buatsi has looked shakey in his last couple of fights aswell though it showed he had some heart i would of expexcted him to be bashing them oppents out, were funny enough okile is flying at the moment , as if you would of asked me a few years back who looks most likey they will fight for a title would i of gone joshjameswilson wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021, 14:50Yeah that’s absolutely fair enough.brilo33 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021, 14:05yea true cant question that and wont also agree with you on the fight reslut, like you i also had dd up but felt jj is gonna win this , but all i meant by this is if dd is such a bum then why is jj now being loarded about after winning that fight , i rate both by the wayjameswilson wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 22:53

I guess it’s a case that the weaknesses that Dubois showed are a cause for concern to the point I believe they will flag up again. Maybe not against Dinu but there was a lack of being able to adapt.
Josh Buatsi is frustrating me because he’s so inactive however in his last fight he was possibly losing or having to overcome an adversity and he showed the ability to adapt to that, he’s shown he can adapt the plan. I think if Dubois is put in an identical spot I think he loses again.
"Der Untergang" is a great movie other than as an analogy for the case! King is absolutely delusional as of now.JimJim2009 wrote: ↑19 Apr 2021, 18:17I don't suppose Don King gives a monkies but he hasn't long left and in the books that will be written once he's gone, all this stuff is going to make a pretty sad ending to his promotional career. If you actually step back and look at it, how a boxer is developed, then you look at what King is doing with that guy, it is pretty unbelievable even in this sport. It's not like he's got anything lined up for him. Lovejoy has fought once in two years. I'm not sure when King signed him up, perhaps it was within those two years but any active boxer needs to actually get in the ring and fight.
King firing off his "cease and desist" letter to his own fighter, reminds me of that film showing Hitler in the Bunker, steadily losing his sanity and, from behind a desk underground, commanding armies that no longer even exist, while above ground in the real world the Russians steamroll their way towards Berlin.
Who’s pulling out?jameswilson wrote: ↑26 Apr 2021, 04:33 So I guess the next question is how far out do we expect this fight to fall through and who will the late replacement be?
