When is this lad gonna fight an active body with a pulse.

What about the guy who beat Garcia? Sandals

Sandor Martin is with Matchroom too, easy fight to make.
Exactly. However the guy has ambition, so no go for Benn
X2.
What is wrong with Benn?
I would love to know why they don't step him up, I think he is OK from what I have seen the last couple of years. He has done what has been expected of him...

I think Hearn said that the value of Benn v a good american fight outweighed the value of Benn v Ava
Something like ‘why would we fight Avanesyan when we’re building a global star’ ... if Benn beat Avanesyan he’d get huge credit and a lot of people, me included, would be eating humble pie. Surely Hearn knows this.
He would get huge credit from the top 2% of boxing fans.

Mickey Garcia has a far bigger name recognition, and far greater achievements. It’s not like he is 40…. Ava got beat by Lithuania… Lithuania probably isn’t better than sandor Martin anyway…
True, but the Ava of 2022 is a different beast. A rather scary beast.

Let’s not start making out Ava to be something he’s not, he’s a good solid fighter who is short of the top boys. He would in my opinion best Conor but let’s not start making out Ava to be this avoided beast because really he’s not. He’s getting avoided by Benn that shows more about where Eddie thinks Benn is at than it does Ava.

Think the obvious answer is , they have seen something in sparring , Avenyansan whatever his name is , is not excatly King of the castle , just someone they obviosly think is too hard to knock off his liitle perch ,, and they must think it otherwise they would take it and shut up all us doomsdayers it would sell , it would secure his name theres NO REASON to not take it except there scared of the result ,, David is good but really at this stage i would only put him at European level .

Garcia , weel perhaps that was hopefull thinking on there part , i've read hes retired but in any case his best days were 135 at 147 he's gonna be an unfit unmotivated punchbag looking to sell his name for retirement dollars and whats more they KNOW THAT

Garcia saying he’s retired now. Tbh probably makes Hearn even wetter for him.

I agree with the theory that they’ve seen something in sparring. Peraud had him down easy albeit flash knockdowns but he’s hardly been hit since.

Maybe he’s been decked in sparring. Something isn’t right for them to always want big physical advantages over his opponents.

Around the time the July date was starting to look unlikely. Hearn did make some statements that if he ends up fighting in September then it would be against a big name and they were going to roll the dice because the camp couldn't hold him back for much longer.

Then Mikey Garcia's name pops up, and thankfully down again. I hope they aren't thinking of this being the type of opponent which is going to be rolling the dice against.

Well it can't/won't be Spence, Crawford, Ortiz, McKinson, Avanesyan and possibly Ugas (?) due to scheduled/discussed fights, injuries and allegedly.

My money is on Thurman being the "rolling of the dice" opponent if it wasn't Garcia but Thurman has reportedly put on a lot of weight while recovering from COVID and wouldn't be ready until October.

That leaves the likes of Crowley, Ennis, Stanionis and Butaev. No chance he's taking the risk against Ennis and they are mostly high risk low reward. Not sure any of the others are big enough names to make the claims unless Ugas' is fully back from injury.

Could it be someone from a lower weightclass which has us all looking in the wrong place?

I would probably bet my house it WOULD NOT be Enniss,, think they would rather fight Spence tomoro than Ennis , and too be honest could'nt blame them i think he could potentially seriously hurt Benn ,, , and i think Ennis is the reason Benn will never win a world title Ennis is going to chase them win them and murder anyone who wants to take them off him .

Guess you can see i'm a big Boots Enniss fan

If you asked me who the future is, it would not be Benn.
Boots is a phenomenon, and young enough to wait out all the big fights to secure the belts. I haven't seen someone I could confidently say "He will go all the way" since Crawford.

lol, i actually liked the fight, so of course i should've known it wasn't happening

as far as guys mentioned already, kava would be a cool as hell opponent for con. a guy with fire who always comes to fight. not another pillow hands, not a small dude coming up, not almost 40. could then say beat the guy who beat ava, etc

other cool opponents: lipinets, butaev, santillan, besputin, rocha, stanionios, golub. crowly is a bit pillow fisted for me to be that enthusiastic, but he's on a good enough run and has the speed/skills to be respectable as well.

opponents that fit the algorithm better: mo hooker (seems to be some weird fixation on having them fight), taras shelestyuk, dulorme, ray robinson, robert guerrero, omar figueroa, josesito lopez

somewhere between cool and meh is a guy like jamal james, who had a really nice b level run and is freaky tall, but got battered his last fight and is a bit pillow handed

Benn will only fight him when Marku is a current two weight undisputed champ holding 8 belts and even then Marku will only be deserving of a 30% split.

I think Marku is an easy fight for Benn. I haven’t been too impressed with Florian.

Neither have I, tbh. Hard to judge him though… beat that unknown Italian Prodan and smashed a past it Jenkins.

Saying that… I’d rather have seen Benn vs Marku than Grenados, Algieri and van Heerden.

Josesito Lopez sounds just about 'perfect', like, algorithmically.
