The IBF belt seemed to slot into the mix quite easily thanks to Larry Holmes, but I’m not sure the WBO strap has ever been as coveted despite some outstanding belt holders in its history.
Yeah, agreed. I don't know at what point it became necessary to have all 4 to be "undisputed". Certainly wasn't the case twenty years ago

Also, in the 2004 comedy boxing film The Calcium Kid, Omid Djalili’s character is a dodgy promoter and says “you’ve heard of the Rumble in the Jungle? Well THIS IS. The Melee on the Tele.”

I think this is Don King's gift to the boxing world. The Rumble in the Jungle was the first one to my knowledge and he also coined the Thrilla in Manila and Drama in Bahama. No one has ever topped those.
Say what you want about the man but he's a marketing genius and always had a flair for the dramatic.
