Will do a complete do over.

Everyone get your top 15 ready.

Gonna collate all the rankings together using a points system, like Dag once did. Then we’ll have a new list.

Won’t be including Ruiz, Ortiz, Wilder and anyone who hasn’t fought in 12 months, so don’t vote them in.
Might be worth waiting until after the Efe/Goodall fight this weekend. No big heavyweight fights planned for a while after that so should give you plenty of time.
Yeh that’s an idea. :TU:

Why is Justis Huni vs Andrew Tabiti missing on BoxRec?

Efe won comfortably. There is now nothing at all scheduled for any top 35 heavyweights. Nothing relevant scheduled inside the top 100.

I currently have a top 17  the last three are tough to separate. Also not sure what to do with Chisora, vite him in where he deserves to be or not include him because he's just an old man who will be sitting on a ranking.

I've knocked up a top 20, as similarly I wasn't sure what the plan is with
Ruiz
Wilder
Whyte
Ortiz

@Ruthless-RKO, do you want inactive fighters included or excluded?

They have to have fought in the last 12 months to be included and I think there was an agreement to kick Whyte out for the time being.

I'm having one hell of a time finding 15 fighters deserving of being rated.

Yeah, I remember. But I look at my top 20 and it's an ugly mess.

Finding 15 isn't the hard part for me: I have Usyk at the top, but then I might as well be pulling numbers out of a hat.

It's like how do we even assess a top 15? It's all pockets of fighters who may have fought one or two of their peers but no one else.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. :brick:

Has a single heavyweight Beaten multiple people who are current (as of November 2023) top 10?

Disgusting reflection on the times at heavyweight, and a pretty clear indicator as to why making these picks will be nearly impossible.

It really is a disgraceful time for heavyweight boxing.
Let's take The Ring top 10. I'm excluding Wilder for inactivity (same as Ruiz Jr. and Ortiz):

1. Usyk (2W: Joshua #3)
2. Fury (1W: Wallin #10)
3. Joshua (1W: Parker #5)
4. Zhang (2W: Joyce #8)
5. Parker (0W)
6. Hrgovic (1W: Zhang #4)
7. Anderson (0W)
8. Joyce (1W: Parker #5)
9. Sanchez (0W)
10. Wallin (0W)

Personally, I don't actually see the value in the undisputed fight at this moment. It doesn't really mean anything. A tournament is what is needed.

well it was already thin to start with, then you take out the inactive guys and also whyte and it's maybe at the lowest point in a good few years in terms of top 15-20 depth

a guy like sanchez is climbing the rankings by default , even with an utter trash career since the efe fight

tbf to chisora, he constantly fights good opposition and either wins or loses credibly enough to get more opportunities. there's actually a lot to like about him amidst a division plagued with inactivity and guys not taking risks

ya it's stale to have a guy like him in the top 15 discussion, but that's not his fault, it's that so few other dudes wanna step up

We not including inactive boys like Wilder, Ruiz and Ortiz.

Whyte is out. We have no clue what is even going on with him. So removed by default until we know more.

I'm leaning towards including him. His win over Pulev is still better than most others in the past year or two. He is also more likely to get an opponent before many of the others so we can drop him if we like. The only issue is if he doesn't get a fight for 6+ months, as we'll end up just voting all the top 15 newcomers above him and others below him will drop down first.

I have been saying for a few years that Chisora should be out of the top 15.
But at this point he is borderline top 10.
This division is so sad
