I’m not that old! I was born in 72.

I went to some random antiques place and one of the sellers had a wad of old boxing mags. I had to sift through but they had a cache of ring mags and some BN. I got lucky about 30 years ago. A mate of mine had a shop and moved into the premises and I found a box of old 70s ring mags. He said I could have them, it was a massive pile.

BOXING has too many yes men and publications like boxing news and various podcasts are more interested in protecting their ringside seats than asking. The right questions. Boxing News in my view are amongst the very worst in not writing and debating what’s wrong in boxing.

The demise of boxing on Sky and the very poor quality they are churning out warrants debate.

Why hasn’t boxing news covered mazrhar majeeds involvement in the sport.

I could go on .., boxing news no longer has the spine to cover the controversial subjects and the social media reporters are even worse.

- allegedly
- Canelo Alvarez
- Tyson Fury
- Oscar De La Hoya
- Triller

- TBIs, CTE and the lack of care within the sport for damaged boxers

Boxing News is the ONE major platform asking difficult questions and looking into shadowy corners when the media landscape is otherwise dominated by sycophants,.

So much so I am going to but it on a weekly basis.

I am influenced by the owner too much in that I think is a tadge patronising.

I do however you read other posts suggesting boxing news is not what it was.

Do you still write for the boxing news, i am not of course suggest you are biased

After 40 years being at the very heart of professional boxing in the UK, including being a mod on a boxing forum AND the man whose job it was to tap on David Haye's door and let him know he was due at training soon, there is nothing in Boxing News that Spud-U-Lick doesn't already know.
