Meanwhile, Joyce is left scratching about taking non entities like Kash Ali, or shopworn gatekeepers like Chisora.

I have a funny feeling about it too - the way Joyce crumbled in the second fight with Zhang, suggested to me that his punch resistance might have been permanently damaged.
Chisora by contrast, whilst slower, and less energetic, still seems quite durable, it could be a really ugly fight, with Chisora wading in eating shots for quite a few rounds, and then landing a big looping shot that flattens Joyce.
Joyce should jack it in, he's really go nowhere to go now. He's likely to take a lot of beatings now at this stage of proceedings.

There is one argument against this fight “it’s bad for their health and they should retire”, which is fair but half of that applies to nearly every good fight.

Chisora is old, and shopworn, and has taken loads of hard shots in his last 10 fights, Joyce isnt exactly a spring chicken either, and is possibly shot now.
I like to see fighters retire, with their faculties intact, I suspect chisoria probably already has some damage awaiting him when he retires, at this stage, is the risk worth the reward?

Back in what game? Do we think Joyce is capable of beating a top contender now, I'm not sold on that. I think he's done. Slow as shite through a funnel, and his chin is cracked, that's a recipe for a beating if he steps up again.
I now have horrible images of poo in a funnel. Never using a funnel again.
I don't know if Joe is done, I hope he's not though.

How is Chisora still fighting?
He's been getting big pay day fights since the Klitschko and Haye fights some 12 years ago. He must have seen the most money you could see out of any heavyweight of his level.

There's more salt and pepper in that thumbnail than a '90s disco. Agree with Syntax about Joyce doing the right thing re: opponents and losing out for it. Until Zhang got to him I was convinced he'd run Fury close.

Not saying it can't be a good fight, just that this level of mutual danger should be the preserve of a more meaningful one.

I thought before the second Zhang fight that he was looking a bit less defined and bulkier than before. Middle aged spread
This match up would've a painful one-sided beatdown prior to the Zhang fights. It probably will still favour Joyce, Zhang was just all wrong for him and had the powah to expose his lack of defensive skills. If Chisora can land enough of his looping overhand rights and survive Joyce's pressure then he could sneak it on points. Joe seems to have lost a step.

Chisora is a dreadful opponent, but it sells tickets and and its given QP the ability to put on a decent card, so fair enough.
Garner v Sharpe appears to be basically confirmed and that should be a cracker.
