The WBO moved a dead fighter up the rankings once, looks like they are continuing to do so.

I've heard that if the Gunn fights falls through Maccarinelli will be allowed to arm himself with a baseball bat and pick any opponent he wished out of the crowd.
Rumour has it that this back up plan has been cleared to be a 12 round title fight.
