Question, how do you get the quotes within quotes? I'm pretty new here...
Gary said he was treating the fight just as a warm-up or a way to get rounds and thought Wills was coming with a journeyman/sparring partner mentality.
Then Wills hit him VERY hard (can't remember which round) and Gary said he was properly buzzed and definitely taken aback. He said he was thinking "Come on, mate, there's no need for that!"
Anyway, to answer the question. Overhand Right got it - it was Mark Wills.Biggs, Tillis, and Pritchard had some power, but i would guess Mark Chill Wills belted him the hardest..?

I think it was a couple of years after he retired. He fell into the charms of, what must have appeared to him, an attractive young lady in a night club who turned out was a man. Can't remember if said young lady had the chop, but there was great amusement at the time and Mason took the humour in his stride. That is f#ckin hilarious! would love to hear Gaz talk about that fight.
You'd look at Wills record and think he was sh#t, and in the 90s he was over the hill, but in 85 he gave Witherspoon his "toughest fight" (Spoons words) and afterwards Spoon said he was pissing blood and in agony.
In 86 he came off the floor to make Greg Page quit and sit on his stool and in 89 he decked and outpointed Derek Williams, before said Mason fight. Then in his next fight he absolutely blasted the durable Page with one shot and got frozen out the scene for TWO years!

Usually a fighter will tell you the hardest he's been hit, or toughest opponent he's met, is the man who DIDN'T knock him out, or DIDN'T beat him.
9 times out of 10....put it down to a fighter's pride.
Jim Grey - comes over as a slime ball.
Mason is a good laugh, but too much of a loose cannon for live tv.
Atlas is good, not as good as Jim Watt tough, but you coudn't fire Teddy even if you wanted to, unless you wanted him coming after you with an axe that is.
Gil Clancy and Tim Ryan were the best team I ever heard.
Marv Albert was great, but was caught wearing lady's panties - not live on air though.
Johnny Nelson gets on my nerves to be honest - too much of a cheer leader - the job obviously mean A LOT to him, and like his fights, he plays it VERY safe.
