i feel uneasy about a malignaggi fight, i think he is good enough to frustrate hatton and beat him.
Tough fight, one I would love to see, especially on the back of Hatton being outslicked by PBF!!!Riddick Blowe wrote:i feel uneasy about a malignaggi fight, i think he is good enough to frustrate hatton and beat him.
I feel the same. The last thing he needs at the moment is another slickster (Malignaggi, Witter) who might make him look a bit foolish. Maybe Ricardo Torres?Riddick Blowe wrote:i feel uneasy about a malignaggi fight, i think he is good enough to frustrate hatton and beat him.

I'm not denying that Hatton has contradicted himself when in comes to Witter, certainly not in terms of the point you make, i.e. winning a world title. But my point is that Floyd Mayweather disrespecting you is not really the same as Junior Witter disrespecting you. This is not a knock on Witter, merely recognition that they're on different levels. Here's hoping that we can now see Hatton - Witter, although I think Hatton has at least one fight before taking on Witter, should it even happen.Max Molyneux wrote:Tis contradictory when Hatton said Witter had to win a world title and then Witter wins one and still doesn't want him. Hatton said that before he was even a champ himself!states wrote:It's not really contradictory, even though I feel Hatton should fight Witter. Mayweather didn't need Hatton to make money. Witter does. Also, Hatton had an awful lot to gain by fighting Mayweather. By contrast, he's only got an awful lot to lose by fighting Witter.Max Molyneux wrote: Still disrespected him though even If It was for cameras.
Hatton contradicts himself when It comes to Witter.![]()
And why bother adding Witter Into his contract and not fight him?
Hatton got to his titles the easy way and had a silver spoon In his mouth unlike Witter who got his the hard way and couldn't turn down anyone.
Agreed, Mayweathers taunts were on the same level as Alis were, nothing really personal and no genuine bad feeling - Mayweather post fight was complimentary to Hatton, and all the sh1t talk had dissapeared.Cannibal wrote:Floyd had the advantage of being P4P #1 and that was something Hatton wanted to be but he could only get it by going through Mayweather. A lot of Mayweather's trash talk is all for show as well, think Hatton found it more amusing than insulting.Max Molyneux wrote:Floyd disrespected Hatton loads and so do other fighters, what does he have against Witter?
Witter has the timing, power and accuracy to beat Hatton as well.
IIRC, he said he was fed up with the stick from Witter years ago saying he'd fought nobodies, and now it was Witter fighting nobodies. Also said Witter isn't a big draw for TV, and he didn't want to line Witter's pockets after what he had said.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Why did Hatton say he didnt want Witter now? I missed it
It was a piss poor excuse and in all honesty it narked mepunchers chance wrote: It was pretty unconvincing to be honest.
I don't know he supposedly won every round against Ndou. Cotto, Witter and Micthell all could not manage that so thats a testiment to his abiilityAutobarn wrote:Hatton-Malignaggi...what is the big deal with Malignaggi? He's meant to be some kind of "boxing artist" yet he didn't even box vs Cotto like he was supposed to. Now he's beaten Ndou all of a sudden he's Willie Pep II.
ndou was past it when malignaggi got to him, witter was on the verge of stopping him but he damaged his handPhenomenal-Nutrition wrote:I don't know he supposedly won every round against Ndou. As for the Cotto fight I gave Mailgnaggi 5 rounds, he made Cotto look foolish at times
Hatton should probably fight Delahoya, Cotto or Mayweather again and just cash in rather than risk it all and lose it to Witter and Malignaggi because theres less to gain and they are still risky fights.
Witter is as dangerous as Delahoya and Cotto. So why not go for Delahoya - thats a no brainer in terms of risk reward and I'm a Witter fan

First, in early 2008 you get a Hatton UK comeback against Gavin Ree's. Being that Ree's is with Warren you could even put it in the M.E.N for old times sakes, a reminder of Ricky's best moments. This gives Hatton a confidence boosting win and another world title.
In the same time span have a unification fight between Malignaggi and Witter at MSG. If Witter could go over there, get the win and look impressive doing so against a fighter a lot of people rate, then that will increase his reputation with the American public.
Then in the summer, Hatton/Witter in a stadium show to determine the undisputed champion of the division. The stadium atmosphere, the undisputed title and Witter's win over Malignaggi should be enough to get HBO's and America's interest.
That is the only possible way I see the fight happening.
