Francis has to get past Tony Oakey first, which i don't see him doing , Francis hardly used the right hand in his last fight, against Oakey he will have to, otherwise he will lose. In fact with 2 good hands i'm not sure he has the workrate to top Oakey.KO Artist wrote:I agree. Whilst I was very dissapointed with Clinton's performance against Tarver, there remains some good match ups for himSpud wrote:Whilst I see your points and a lot of me is siding with you - I do not want Clinton retiring when I know he could and should have done better. Clinton Woods could have at the very least troubled Antonio Tarver - Prior to the fight, I always had the fight as a very close one - certainly a lot closer than many on here - however - I wa stunned at the manner of Tarvers victory.DavidPayne wrote:Lets be honest. He should retire. He's stated he's done all he wanted to do. Being in it solely for the money when you can get tagged as easily as Clinton did on Saturday, at the age of 35, is not a good idea.
I swear blind there must have been something wrong - was it the "belief" aspect that Poxon touched in the corner - was it all the hype b*llocks prior to the fight which Clinton got involved in - was it boxing outside Sheffield/ UK??
Clinton Woods went the bloody hard way of achieving what he did in boxing - a credit to the sport - I simply cannot believe prior to or during the fight he simply thought or subconsciously thought he had enough at the age of 35 - I simply cannot get my head around the performance.
I would start with Dean Francis, good domestic fight, should sell. Providing Francis can fully employ his right hand.
As for Clinton, maybe he can fight the winner of that one, depends what offers come along for Clinton. He will still be highly ranked by the bodies, so may be seen as a route for an up an coming boxer to get into the rankings.
But i still feel Clinton is good enough to win against most of the contenders at light heavy.
