Calzaghe V Hopkins............Joe was the moral winner !!!!!

Calzaghe V Hopkins was a close fight.

Some scored it for Calzaghe.

Some scored it for Hopkins.

However regardless of how people scored the fight - many people use that fight as a way to try and discredit Cazlaghe's career.

That he somehow lost to a old man, etc, etc.

But Calzaghe was the moral winner of that fight - regardless of who you had winning on the scorecard.

First of Hopkins is a bully boy - but he met his match in Calzaghe - he could not bully him or intimadate him despite his best efforts.

Calzaghe had a contempt for Hopkins and refused to give in to him.

Calzaghe was soooooooo relaxed going intot that fight and was caught sleeping when Hopkins felled him in the 1st round.

But then he woke up and for the rest of the 12 rounds - it was Calzaghe who was pushing the fight.

It was Cazlaghe who had the hunger to win and pressure.

Hopkins was a disgrace - holding on Calzaghe like a Octupus - and feigning injury to bide his time.

Its a compliment to Calzaghe that Hopkins had to resort to cheating to get himself through the 12 rounds - he was finding Calzaghes pressure too much and had too take refuge on the floor with his cheating antics.

Hopkins said he would make it look easy - he failed.

Hopkins set out to intimadate and break Calzaghe's heart - he failed.

Hopkins said he would win - he failed.

Calzaghe came through the test - and was clearly the moral victor.

At the post fight press conference Hopkins sounded like a bad loser - refusing to give Calzaghe any credit - and then going off with his tail in between his legs -

For once in his life Bernard Hopkins knew he had met someone in Joe Calzaghe who he had failed to master both psycolgiically and in the boxing ring.

Hopkins despite his age was the NO 1 Light Heavyweight In the World.

Calzaghe went straight to America and fought the NO 1 - full credit to him.

Calzaghe had close tough fight.

But he won the moral battle - 100 % unaminously.

Ha

But Joe was also the points winner too

But haters try and make out like he lost by a point or something on the scorecard

The point is - it was a very close fight either way - -----------but Calzaghe was the one who emerged from it with the moral victory

I had Joe 2 up but Calzaghe was pushing the fight and Hopkins was intent on not letting him get a rythem it was a good tactic as he had no chance if he stood toe to toe with J.C as Calz is so much fitter

agreed

if he stood toe to toe - man to man - Joe would have smashed him up.

:DDD :DDD :DDD

I personally scored the bout in favour of Hopkins, but I can understand why some thought Calzaghe won! However, there was no way on earth Calzaghe was ever going to grant Hopkins a rematch, no way!

We will never know for sure, but I think Calzaghe knew Hopkins would have probably done more in a rematch!

To quote appolo creed - Joe may have won but he didn't beat him. Hopkins beat him to the punch time and time again, always ended the exchanges and he floored Joe.

Even if you agreed with the score card - what Hopkins said post fight was also true.

Agreed. Joe was made to miss and look foolish. Hopkins deserved a rematch at the very least.

Hopkins knew calzaghe is a counter puncher so adopted a tactic that would spoil and hope to get in the sneaky combos. It was a clever tactic, but i would never applaud someone for fighting dirty and robbing fans of a proper boxing match especially for a title fight.

People make out calzaghe only just beat an old man but in reality if hopkins had come out and boxed he would have been beaten on points at an embarrassing level.

I had calzaghe by 2 and i think he won fair and square, if hopkins had won i wouldnt have said calzaghe was robbed but i would have said what did he do to deserve a win. he didnt come forward he didnt fight he just tried cheating his way to a points victory.

Personally i would have expected a solid light heavy weight to come to a fight and try and knock his opponent out.

Er.. Enzo thought Hopkins won it too, hence he was telling Joe to go for the KO in the final round lmfao.

If Hopkins thought that he had the fight won then he is a complete idiot.
