Don't right choc off mate.

He could earn the same money fighting Shannon Taylor. Why is he fighting Manfredo?

he wants US recognition for a fight with Winky.

Maybe after the Green rematch.

Choc has been written off because of the reasons that have previously been stated and for me because of my previous post.

He's fighting Manfredo because he figures it'll be an easy fight for him to win based probably on a jab-jab-back foot-counter-backfoot-jab-repeat-UD win fight plan.

He won't fight Winky at least for another 4-5yrs when he's gone past his prime and really shouldn't be fighting anymore. That's even if Winky accepts the fight.

He should fight Taylor. It's what the fans have come to expect.

Just read your post again and spot on, I think that many Aussies are similar to me in that I have looked for a reaso to support mundine from the beginning but he only ever carryies on like a dick head and in the ring wont fight the best when we can see he has the ability to compete with and beat the best. What has really toped it for me is his shamelessly runnng scared from Kessler. Some may say smart business move - maybe. but I cannot see any positive in it other than mundine saved himself from being KOed by Kessler.
He has shown his true colors - yellow.

Didnt Sakio Bika offer Mundine a fight and Mundine declined?
Bika would probably lose on points but hes pretty tough, id like to see him put alot of pressure on Mundine.. but the fight wont happen

Other way round there buddy. I know for a fact that Mundine made Sakio a substantial offer at the beginning of this year. Contender managers turned Sakio there other way.

UB2 - You win Mundine fan of the century! The only fan bigger is Mundine himself.

I know I'm repeating alot of what has been said, but I can't sit on the sidelines any longer.

Yes super talented athlete and potential to be a great boxer had he better people around him.

His manager knows what he's worth and therefore keeps him fighting bums in oz which keeps Mundine and Nasser nice and rich. Of coarse, if Nasser wasn't such a crook and Mundine such an idiot, they could have made a lot more with third party sponsership deals while still fighting bums. (And yes I am fully aware he says he refused 3rd party sponsership as he doesn't believe in western conglomerates) He could have been a great ambassodor for oz and Aboriginal people. Instead he's a joke.

Yes he ducked Kessler, a fight that would have truly done everything he had been talking about. Would have ranked him #1 SMW in world and in line to fight all the other fighters mentioned that may have seen it as an easy belt to take. But thats only IF HE WON and I think I am with the vast majority that knows he would have been KTFO... or run like he was back playing league.

So what seems to be a compromise between exposure and easy competition, he's gone for a well known and easily beatable Manfredo Jnr, which if he wins could certainly lead to a bigger fight, but the reality is when he could of had the biggest fight of his career in rematch with Kessler, he walked away.. Why would he decide to go for any other big name and potentialy dangerous fighter now.. The guy is a joke and until he steps into the ring with someone serious, will always remain a joke IMO.

Spot on, although I think the "great Barry Michael" is up there in the biggest fan department, you are right in everything you say.
I think the answer lies with the Australian public, if we stop buying his shit shows (I did ages ago) and dont bother going to the pub to watch (i dont)- outlets will catch on quickly if they are not making money and stop buying the shows.
mundine could have been so much, but he is obvioulsy not very smart

Gday guys, been off line for a while so I apologise if I am going over old ground...
This should be an easy fight for Mundine. From what I have seen Manfredo doesnt offer to much that can bother choc. Manfredo is a good name in USA. But lets be realistic. Manfredo isnt a top fighter, he's just a decent name (in the USA). I havent seen much of Peter since his second fight with Mora. I am over Mundine. If he fights like he did against Crazy Kim, which I thought was average, he will still beat Pete because Pete doesnt have the power Kim does. I haent check what undercard this fight is on, but unless it is a beauty I wont be buying it.

Choc is actually on the undercard now:

Bika vs Manfredo
Mundine vs Miguel Espino
Codrington vs New Zealander

Agree. Crazy Kim has more power than Manfredo

November 13th in Providence.

Mundine is now pushing to fight Kassim Ouma on that card.
