no idea.not seen Manfredo at all. Certainly not the BEST IN THE WORLD mundine keeps harking on about.almost seems a very business like approach ie an american opponent who has been in with some big names.Certainly could have been much worse.
As for the weight thing.well i gave up on trying to work out what the story was there ages ago. Just hope to see something confirmed soon and if choc does win then a rEAL BIG FIGHT early next year.

Manfredo Jr is a big name. He fought on The Contender (broadcast internationally) and reached the final. He has fought the likes of Joe Calzaghe and Jeff Lacy.

Manfredo Jr did reasonably well against Jeff Lacy, and lost a close fight. He surprised me by knocking out Donny McCrary early. Bika didn't manage to put McCrary away in 5 rounds and it took Allan Green 6 rounds (after McCrary knocked down Green). Manfredo Jr is on form.

I think it's a great fight if it goes ahead.

I agree. I think it's a positive fight for Mundine to take though, considering some of his previous opponents.

This so-called "Man" angers me more and more as each day goes by. So he's now not even moving out of SMW after all? If I was Kessler I'd simply rock up to Mundine's gym one day (yes, fly down here, find out what time he trains etc) and spar him. And destroy him that way. Also make sure someone films it and posts it on youtube later that day with the heading "This is why Anthony dodged me.."

This would have been a good fight for Mundine after his loss to Kessler, a respectable tune up fight, but after years of fighting bums it is really not enough of a step up at all.

In all honesty, I would not be that shocked to see Manfredo stop Mundine. If he was on form like he was against Pemberton he could pull off the upset. Mundine would probably look past him and try to showboat like he does against the Argentines but a C level Yank fighter like Manfredo is light years ahead of most of the names on Mundines resume..

As for Manfredo-seems like there is some difference of opinion as to the blokes merit.While again it is a far cry from choc fighting THE BEST in the world ,relative to some of the previous foes mundine has been in with for the last 2 years at least it is a step up.Perhaps not big but significant.With that in mind if mundine got KD by Crazy then a decent American opponent will surely have choc worried.Sadly i see another snoozefest unless Manfredo comes out swinging.And if Mundine couldnt put Crazy away how the hell will he put Manfredo away.

I know i've posted this before, but will do it again, because it's all fact. Mundine' qoute; I want to move down to the middleweight division, and fight the best, i really think i could dominate the division, i want to fight Taylor,winky and Pavlik. Some of the guys in the supermiddleweight division are bigger than me, like kessler and siacca, but at middleweight i will be a big middleweight.

Now when i heard that interview, the first thing i thought was, omitting fear of bigger(taller)fighters, COWARD.
Now here' the thing, the fighters he wants to fight at middleweight have come up to supermiddle or light heavy, except Pavlik, who will have to be weight drained come the later part of next year, then will be SMW or L/h.

I mean the fact that Taylor cant make the weight anymore, Winky hasn't fought thier since late 06 and @ 37 has started to enjoy His 250 grm steaks a bit more, thus no desire to return to middleweight, IMO, and would probally prefer a fight at smw.
And Pavlik @ 6'2 how much longer can he remain a middleweight.

What we have witnessed is a fantastic charade.

Its not him. Its the people around him.

Hes earning what, $5 mill a year fighting domestically.

If hes going to fight Winky, Pavlik, Abraham, hes going to earn a lot less than that.

Media attention and pressure needs to dramatically increase. I have said it for a long time, Mundine has the talent to do anything in the ring. I think his style can get him a win over Calzaghe and Hopkins. I think Winky and Kessler beat him. Styles make fights.

And what were seeing is nothing short of a tragedy. Mundines final 3 years might be fighting bums.

The funny thing is. Overseas fans are now starting to ask. What the fck is he doing with his career?

Geale is not in Mundines league.

Only a few are. He belongs in the elite. He belongs in the US.

I was expecting a bigger and better opponent come November.

But if hes fighting Manfredo to get better US recognition. And then he follows it up with a bout with Winky next year. Then thats oright.

I see to much desire and self belief in the guy to keep fighting these cabbies. He told the commentary team the other night "I want to fight Pavlik and Taylor, those guys will bring out the best in me". I just hope thats not all talk.

P.S I think Winkys a bad match up for him. Same with Kessler. Hes better off fighting Abraham, Pavlik, or Calzaghe.

If he beats Manfredo convincingly he will get big exposure in the US and from there he may be able to get a fight against a big name. What no one seems to understand is that none of the big names wants to take a risk against a talented fighter like Mundine when no one in the states even knows who he is.

Manfredo is a popular fighter over there and if Choc can beat him easily he will get some big recognition. Great choice of opponent for Mundine and a fight I think he should win by pretty comfortable UD.

He's got to boost his own profile to get a shot. Otherwise the so called best fighters will just continue to fight the same old over the hill grandpa's they're fighting at the moment. (Hopkins, RJJ, Tarver etc)
