Prescott is too slow and will get dealt with inside six.
Ultimately though Khan's chin will let him down when he moves in with the division's big guns.

Khan by KO but with his chin it wont take much to turn it around.

Interesting one this, because I get the impression Frank is taking a jump into the unknown with this guy, and hoping for the best.
He's seen the record, and hopes the fact that Prescott was been put in with a bunch of stiffs, is a sign the guy is an accident waiting to happen. Though his last win, and first overseas, was a decent enough one.
Frank would not have gone for this guy without the PPV pressure. Sky would have turned down a lot of Frank's preferences, wanting someone with a bit of sparkle about him. They have probably reluctantly been talked into this one, knowing that the sterling looking record is going to attract the viewers. Though not 250000 surely...
If Prescott is a bit chinny, Khan will clump him inside a round, but if he's half way sturdy...Frank and Sky could have a nightmare disaster on their hands.
Impossible to be sure, has Frank got it right? Or has his hand been forced into a unwanted gamble that could backfire badly?
I think Khan gets the win, but he might have to come through a shock on the way. Think Prescott is worth a few quid for the upset though...

Finally, a good, reasoned and thoughtful post on this subject. I agree totally, and Prescott, although it must be stressed his last opponent isnt a huge amount to go by, does look pretty sturdy, just from the way he was dictating the ring, marching forward, and bossing and not getting pushed back. Plus Prescott is a damn big lightweight... I normally scoff at the ''oooh look at the size difference!' crowd but against Khan it is definitely a factor.
If he can hold the centre of the ring against Khan in the same way and look the boss in there, then who knows. I think he can which is why I predicted him to win by KO.
People already mentioned Kiko Martinez and Ricardo Torres- there is nothing to suggest this guy can't go and do what they did. Can you imagine if Torres has been at the same stage as he was before he took the Cotto fight and Frank taking him instead of Prescott?

On paper there's little difference between them at that stage of their careers - and Torres gave Cotto hell. He would have destroyed Khan.
If it turns out I'm wrong I'll admit it but I'm not admitting Khan 'proved me wrong' - I fully expect him to come unstuck very soon.

I recorded and watched Bunceys Boxing hour yesterday (excellent show as always, Kevin Mitchell and Haye were in the studio, interiews/messages from Khan, Audley, Rendall Munroe, Michael Hunter and others)...
.... Anyway Buncey said that Khans new trainer Jorge trained a fighter that lost to Prescott fairly recently, so I'd imagine that Jorge has had some choice in this opponent and will know him very well

Of the small clips Sky have shown of Prescott winning....the first impression is, he's not up to much despite the impressive KO record.
Khan wins before the halfway point.

I agree with him. I think Khan has a lot of raw ability but he won't be one of these pristine 50-0 fighters unless he is HEAVILY protected.
Personally I think a euro level banger would have him in trouble. I think Romanov would give him fits. That is the fight he should make next if he really is out to show what he can do. Of course, he has to get past this unknown banger first.
He may be a tad slow but guys like him are usually used to compensating for their lack of speed. He keeps a tight guard, keeps moving forward and gradually backs you onto the ropes. If he can take a lot of Khan's flurries on the gloves and work in close to unload a bomb it could be interesting.
I put a fiver on each of the first 5 rounds at 125/1 each for Prescott.

good odds
cause this guy can obviously bang... but in the 2 rounds ive seen on youtube he goes look slow as fook, just depends how good his defence and whisker are really
i cant see khan being ko's in the first 5 though, he is too fit
round 8 onwards would be more likely

Jesus, where did you get those odds??? I looked on oddschecker and the best I saw was skybet at 100/1 for all.
Ive put quite a lot on some assorted rounds for prescott. Its gonna be a nice old return...

Khan by "referee's intervention" sometime around the 4th, I reckon. These "unknown" Colombians can be very dangerous (see Torres), but I'd be surprised if Warren and co. hadn't done their research and made sure that the guy is a bum first.

Of course hes a bum. Khan round 3. Prescott taking an 8 count and the ref waiving the fight off.

I agree, Waylon. Has Khan ever knocked anyone out for the full count? I can't remember one. Always seems to be "rsf" (referee stops fight) with Amir throwing a flurry of punches, many of which seem to be hitting thin air.

I got them on Paddy Power but it was when they first went up. They have fallen to 80/1 now.

I'd never heard of Prescott before this fight was announced so can't really make a prediction other than a Khan KO victory.

No one knew much about Martinez other than that he appeared to have power and he floored Dunne 3 times within 1 round.
What can I say, when you're good, you're good!
125/1 for me, get in!

Now hes facing on paper the best guy hes come up against, who looks solid and tough on youtube. And that's enough for me.
MY PREDICTION IS THAT BREIDIS PRESCOTT WILL KO AMIR KHAN AND I WILL LOOK LIKE A GENIUS WHEN IT HAPPENS

How slow on the uptake am I? Frank's got a clause on Prescott; that's the angle. He can't take Khan much further, and saw this potential future contender before his rivals did. He turns his new boy into an overnight draw by letting him dispatch of yesterday's money ticket.
