I so wish Clinton Woods had beaten Tarver - this would've been a perfect way to say goodbye in Cardiff, for the IBF belt too.

Absolutely ideal. But if he can still make SMW Froch would be good also.

I am fairly certain his super middleweight days are gone - if he struggled to make 175lbs (and I know it is feesable that he just slackened off his training/diet for his last fight) then he's not going to make 168lbs again. I don't even think that he would want to.
There's no one to fight left to fight, apart from Hopkins II (I am one of the few to want to see this fight, as I am a lover of tactical fights). If he doesn't want Hopkins (he says he don't) then I think it's time to hang up the gloves.
And Dawson isn't worthy of a shot just yet.

dawson is the current ibf/ibo champion and previously held the wbc belt.
he's also unbeaten
why isn't he worthy of a shot just yet?

Perhaps you're right - I forgot he gave up the WBC belt so he didn't have to fight in Romania. I meant that he's still a bit too green for Calzaghe. The likes of a close fight with Johnson and a decent win over Tarver doesn't get you ready for Joe.
That's just my view on it, mate.

If he absolutely had to fight someone on that list, I'd go for Dawson. He's up and coming, undefeated, had some good wins.
Although I am fond of Froch, there would literally be NOTHING for Joe to gain by beating him at this point in Froch's career.
Dawson might not be a legend, but he is recognised as a genuine world contendor and someone to be reckoned with. He has *some* stock.
Froch might be there in a year or so's time. But I'd hope Joe would be history by then.

Each week, before you begin your top 30 countdown you stride onto the stage to dispel the latest rumours.
"There have been reports in the papers this week, and im sure that you've seen them, linking me very strongly with the disappearance of Madeline McCann.. I can re-assure you viewers that such reports are nothing short of lies, i have never even been to Portugal, and even if i had, i prefer brunettes anyway "
Why would there be reports every week suggesting that I had done very bad things?
Because im on to you sunshine, i know what you've been up to....

Not sure why Hagler says Tarver. Tarver, spanked by Hopkins AND Dawson!

Maybe Tarver is Hagler's mate.

If Dawson is not ready for Joe, then surely it is in Joe's best interest to take advantage of that and pick up another impressive win, World title and paycheck.

He should do but he won't as the financial incentive isn't there for Joe because Dawson isn't a big draw with the casual boxing fans yet. I feel he needs one more big win and if Calzaghe retires then he could fight Hopkins. Amazing fight I think.
I think Joe should have Hopkins II in Cardiff - B-Hop said he's willing to travel and Joe will take confidence from already beating him, plus the redemption for Joe's close win and Hopkins' perfromance against Pavlik would get me excited. The fight is completely justifiable.
I wouldn't mind watching Joe vs. Bernard II as I was in the minority of fans that enjoyed the competitiveness/tactical side of the first fight. It was a close fight that could've been scored a lot of ways - I had it 114-113 Hopkins.
*awaits savaging for enjoying the first B-Hop/Calzaghe fight*

I also rather enjoyed it. But, I would rather see Joe fight some other good fighters, instead of the ones he has already beaten.

Don't get me wrong because I feel the same - the fact is there's no one else big enough for Joe to fight apart from Hopkins unless he wants a British showdown with Froch. Dawson's very good but doesn't carry a big enough name yet, so I assume that rules him out.

Maybe Taylor? IF he looks great v Lacy. Already has guaranteed shot (WBC super middle) at Froch-Pascal winner. Taylor is probably name enough, pedigree enough (Olympian, undisputed middle champ recently) to make it lucrative. Coming off high profile defeats, he has a reason to risk his neck for greater gain, maybe...He loses to Calzaghe, and he still has a world title shot in his next fight.
Maybe something will happen if Taylor does as expected to Lacy.

I was one of the few to actually vote for Taylor - I didn't say as people get ridiculed on here for much less.

I think if Jermain really looks good, Joe might go for it. Don't reckon Jermain would come to the UK, but I do think he'd move to 175 (or catchweight, everyone's fave weight!) to fight Joe in America.
Joe obviously doesn't want to settle with Hopkins, so Taylor is not only a decent sized fight (by today's standards), he's a way for Joe to put the Executioner behind him.

He should fight Matthew Barney - Tocker Puwdell and then Warren to beat Marcianos record!
