Since Eddie is a director of the Professional Darts Corporation, maybe he’s promised fat Andy a place at Ally Pally if things don’t go his way tomorrow.
Anyway, I’m rooting for AJ although I realise this goes against the general feeling here.

Ruiz KOing The Golden Child in a stunning upset was great for boxing.
Him winning again and being the man isn't.
I@m rooting for AJ

Agree with this. It livened up the scene and also created a very interesting fight. Pppl got to see AJ KO's and Hearn's boy lose to satisfy themselves too. But the division is healthier with AJ getting revenge on obescne Andy

I know most people will say this is just digging for sand in a desert but I genuinely think having these small advantages all tally up and will help AJ on the nightsamwbr wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 11:4822ft apparently against 16ft last time out.kbackup408 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 11:35 Any truth to the ring being bigger tomorrow?
Everything seems to be aligning towards an AJ points win, the referee is also a big fan of the holding and grabbing style !

At this point mate I am betting on AJ to show some discipline. He looks mentally switched on and after todays weigh in the 36 minute saudi bank job looks like a real possibilityRiddick Blowe wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 11:42I hope so, I’ve bet hard on it. I’m trying to figure out if the extra weight is going to make him the ‘immovable object’ or just a fat, low cardio slob in the eyes of AJ.kbackup408 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 11:35

I’m tending towards the former. I can see Joshua playing it safe at long range whatever happens, but if Ruiz can’t close the distance AJ won’t be forced into exchanges too often which means it may be more likely to be a drab 12 round affair.
On the other hand you’ve got to fancy Ruiz to go for it at some point, in which case he’ll use up energy and make it more likely he’s stopped late.

Ring is same size as last time.

There was an interview with the guy who built it on 5 Live's podcast earlier in the week and I'm pretty sure he said it was bigger than last time? Could just be that it had to be made bigger because it is the ring from York Hall though, and was definitely 16x16 before he put the extensions in. I'm probably confusing the two.
Re: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua II - 7 December 2019
What he said was that it was 16x16 for the open workouts and 22x22 for the fight. He did not mention the last fight as he was not involved in the ring set up. It was Mike GoodallMarkMcBurney wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 15:01There was an interview with the guy who built it on 5 Live's podcast earlier in the week and I'm pretty sure he said it was bigger than last time? Boxing News made the good point that only Ali and Holyfield ever built on surprise victories to become established champions. I’m thinking Ruiz might be following in the footsteps of not just Buster Douglas, but also Hasim Rahman. I recall him having car accidents and looking a shadow of his former self, boxing in an oddly 1900’s robotic style before being dispatched easily by Lennox Lewis in their rematch. Ruiz might do a bit better than that, but unless Joshua walks onto one early, I’d imagine Ruiz will fall apart in the late rounds.

I made a thread last time around about something not being right with Joshua on the night .
I think he'll box more this time around if Ruiz will let him and think he'll get the win this time .
Fully expect to be completely wrong about it all and ready to be called everything under the sun

I must admit I was a bit taken in by the photos of Ruiz looking very trim and focused. I guess that was all ‘fake news’ as Donald Trump likes to say. Unless Joshua is shot I don’t think he should be losing this now.

Ah thanks for clearing up. Was a very interesting interview. Do you know if, due to the size of venue, it was set up as 16x16 when in situ at York Hall too?tobyh5 wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 15:03What he said was that it was 16x16 for the open workouts and 22x22 for the fight. Wow, I never realised it until you mentioned it. Andy does have the perfect physique for a professional darts player!
Re: Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Anthony Joshua II - 7 December 2019
tbh not a clue bud but it never looked big in there. I am sure some guys here with no regulations and minimum ring sizes allowed. I am not sure but think 16 may be allowed as the minimumMarkMcBurney wrote: ↑06 Dec 2019, 15:33Ah thanks for clearing up. Was a very interesting interview.
