I always thought that if you scored points than the champion you could beat him.

To me, he did. If Pedroza had started his body attack a couple of rounds earlier, he would not have this blemish on his record. But give Bernard credit. Eusebio didn't get away with his foul tactics on Taylor.

It's not like this is the only time that the judges gave Pedroza a break.

It was ugly but Bernard Taylor beat Pedroza on my scorecard. Yes, he ran alot but was landing enough to win rounds. Thought EP clearly lost to Lockridge in the 1st bout and I had LaPorte edging him.

Taylor was already mentioned. There was the two Lockridge fights. Then there was the LaPorte fight.

All four easily could have gone the other way. This has been talked about many times.

I will watch it again in the near future, but from what I saw when I watched the fight, Bernard did enough to win. I am a Bernard Taylor fan, and I am also a Pedroza fan. I feel that Eusebio was very underrated as a fighter, and gets overlooked because of the presence of Roberto Duran and being co-champion with Salvador Sanchez. I feel probably that Salvador ducked him to a degree, so I can undertstand his frustration at that. But he did lose to Bernard Taylor that day in Charlotte.

Pedroza won outright. All 4 times. He threw more and connected more. End of story.

Just because Pedroza is one of my favorite fighters does not detract that he was a great fighter. A man that defended 20 times his title, 10 times in opposition's back yard should count for something. That means consistency as champion in world title fight level.

De La Hoya did not do anything but to be an HBO superstar. That was it.

No way! He did enough. Pedroza was champ in how many weight classes? The Great Oscarito was the total package. Close the curtain.
