I noticed Williams seems to slow blink every now and then, not in a regular way, more noticeable. Has he always done this?

A friend of mine and his wife gave up their jobs as teachers in UK to work over there. From what my mate says you get impression it's a snake pit of corruption over there.

Williams always has blinked like that. Not sure where Dully goes from here now. Doubt he will retire - but if a glancing jab puts you down then you know it's time.

I don’t know about always but I noticed it about 18 months ago on an IFL interview. Looks to me more like a facial tic but who knows.

he's always done it, check here for example from a presser vs corcoran, which is what, like 6-7 years ago now or something. corcoran actually made fun of it at some point in the build up to that fight i think

maybe he does it to reel his ears back in

Off topic but bizarrely Corcoran lost three times as a pro, all stoppages in the 11th round

Eubank is right. Ignore the crowd and no way was Williams racking up all those rounds.

ya, in fact 120-104 eubank was the right score

114-110 eubanks a fair card , no real issues with that. he obviouslyy won with all the kds, but very very few rounds other than those did he put beyond doubt

that said.......i think the coasting was in part a function of the kds. if he hadnt gotten such a massive lead early id expect that he wouldve fought harder in the mid/late stages. but the big lead let him take it easy a lot of the time. so comments like fowlers i think miss the influence that the kds had on eubank's own approach

Yh the crowd did pop every time Williams landed.

In one sense the knockdown spoiled the fight as Eubanks knew he could coast. The other rounds were close enough so it would have been interesting to see whether Eubanks would have changed his tactics and brought it on more.

ya i agree, kds put him far enough ahead that he started arsing around pretty early, if he hadnt gotten those id expect him to fight harder. i did think he was starting to step it up late too before the final kd, when it seemed like williams had worked his way back into it

he did get the kds of course, so we'll never know how it wouldve gone without them

Oscar did early on in his pro career, dunno about his first fight though.
But he was hyped up the jacksie and back early on. The Golden Boy could do no wrong.
The pressure when he turned pro was immense according to his autobiography "Out Of My Closet And Into My Wife's".

I’ve never really agreed with the way that a knockdown pretty much guarantees a 10-8 round. Jr did nothing in rd 1 and Liam was clearly winning it until the flash knockdown. For me that should be 10-9 Jr. I think the 4th followed a similar pattern

ya agree, if one guy is clearly winning the round but takes a flash kd or something it shouldnt be 10-8, that's like a full 3 point swing
