2 excellent belts.........
Yeah, okay.... two excellent belts then.
Badass, Munroe's first win over Martinez was amazing at the time, and still is. He was an unbeaten puncher who was coming off a round one blitzing over Dunne. Munroe was a massive underdog in that fight - I believe 8/1 or something close to that. Yes, I will concede that Dunne's win over Cordoba was better, but it's still only one massive fight he's won. He needs to avenge that Martinez defeat, because having L KO1 on his record without reversing it will taint him forever, just like Amir Khan. Don't get me wrong, I am not dissing Dunne, because I like him. Talented and seems a nice guy. But God, I just wish politics wouldn't get in the way of a great event - Munroe vs Dunne for the European belt would be utterly amazing.
Dunne KO5.
It's just funny that people call him a world champion when he isn't - Cabellero is the WBA's representative for "world champion" status. Interim, emeritus, champion in recess, and regular champions are stupid. I can't wait for the day the WBA bring out a 'super duper' world champion, or even worse.

To an extent I agree although if both went on to win multiple championships in various weight divisions(not saying they will, but IF) then I'd probably cut them some slack, I mean the late great Alexis Arguello lost in the first round without ever avenging it but nobody ever talks about it.
Personally if I were in Khans or Dunnes shoes I'd have wanted an immediate rematch but the chances of them happening now are slim given that both men will have bigger fish to fry in the future if they keep winning.

I would never rematch someone straight away after I got blown out by them. Dunne, in theory, could face Martinez next. Yes, Martinez has lost twice to Munroe, but for Dunne to beat Martinez after what happened in the first fight would gain him massive kudos to the purists. I wouldn't be surprised to see it not happen ever though.

Well froch has his super middle tourney - hopefully - so this could take him well out of joe's "immense" shadow.
i think it is more the nature of fans, not the business - i.e. bringing dunne into every munroe thread and vice versa. it's not really the nature of the business. dunne has a belt - dunne doesn't need him, munroe says it should happen because there is more gain for him. munroe gets a belt - just wait - he'll say he doesn't need dunne; and dunne - seeing the extra gain for him - will probably say the fight has to happen.

Theoretically it is the business/sport. If these fights took place then we wouldn't need to come up with hypothetical scenarios regarding the fights we all want to see. Imagine if Haye/Macca never happened - it would probably be mentioned in every Haye or Maccarinelli thread. One way to make it go away is to fight.

What do you fellas think Munroe's chances are?
Looking at clips of Nishioka on youtube, he looks good but not that good but it's hard to judge on what little I've seen. He is quite small at the weight too.
Is this the right fight for Munroe to be going after?
BTW I reckon Munroe whips Dunne who is a glorified club fighter who got lucky facing a crap champion.
should be a good fight!
if anyone is a glorified club fighter its Munroe! he has fought no one!
thats not to say he's a bad fighter - he's not. But this fight will tell us a lot about the binman! good luck to him, I hope he does it!
HAHHAHAHAHHAHAH WHO HAS DUNNE BEAT?? A SKINNY RAKE WHO CUDNT TAKE A PUNCH..MUNROE HAS FOUGHT MANY SOLID EUROPEANS AND BEAT KIKO MARTINEZ TWICE..WHO KNOCKD DUNNE OUT IN ROUND 1 LOOOOOOOL... MUNROE WOULD OUTBOX HIM WITH EASE..MUNROE HAS A SOLID JAW AND GOOD SKILLS

This kind really should be banned.

Solid jaw? Matiroysan and Bouita would beg to differ. Solid Europeans? With lower ko ratios and worse records than Dunne's 2 European title defenses? He would take a solid beating if he came to fight Dunne with the kind of attitude his fans have.
To answer your question, Dunne fought a world rated guy with a win over Caballero. Who has Munroe fought? A crude brawler who built up a good ko record fighting other Spaniards with losing records.Granted Martinez beat Dunne too but if you don't rate Dunne you can't rate Kiko's win over him, and so you can't rate Munroe's wins over Martinez either. You can't have it both ways!
