I have a tattoo, and I've had lots of injections due to travelling a lot. BUT I have never had a blood test and am petrified by the thought. Unless you have or have had a fear of needles at any stage of your life you won't understand. If I was training for a fight the thought of a blood test would be in the back of my mind for a few days before and would probably affect me physically for a couple of days after. Thats 5 days out of an important training camp not at 100%. So I empathise with Pacman on this one.
What I find funny is that boxing fans are always looking for someone to brighten up the sport and take it back to its glory days etc. etc. but as soon as someone has a bit of success you all want to shoot them down and accuse them of cheating.

I'm actually digusted and saddened by people now assuming Pac is on something when there is NO EVIDENCE whatsoever of this apart from a bunch of moronic net posters and the Mayweather family. They are gutless people hiding behind a computer screen trying to bring down a man far more worthy then they will ever be!
Boxer's like Mayweather have been killing boxing for years, its all about making money by fighting the easiest guy out there and choosing to run rather then fight.
Pac is the shining light in boxing, he is everything we want in a boxer and human being, not only is he entertaining and exciting in the ring but a humble man who wants to help the poor of his country by using his money to educate and uplift them.
Lets just get the FACTS right....Pac has agreed to be tested by urine and blood but what he dosent want is giving a independent drug testing body total autonomy to test for blood whenever they want.
Can you imagine an hour before the biggest fight of your life, they come into your dressing room and ask to take a vial of your blood by sticking a needle into your arm, that would have a negative psychological effect on anyone especially if you were superstitious about this.
Both Arum and Roach have stated they are fine with blood testing and urine testing as long as there was some procedure involved not alllowing the drug testing body to disrupt Pacman in the last few days before the fight so everyone should be fine with that!

Sorry I am with Mayweather on this - if Pacman is not taking anything and has nothing to hide - he will not give a sh*t about where and when he has to take a test. As for hampering his training sessions - that is b*llocks!!!!

Nothing wrong at all!
Pac and roach should welcome this and it should be standard in all big fights!

Totally agree
Common sense would tell you they would not be asking to take blood the day of the fight .. have they ever asked to take blood samples the day an athlete is competing in the Olympics? .. I`d doubt that very much.
How Pacman has demolished all in front of him as he has stepped up through the weights does raise an eyebrow or two .. Oscar De La Hoya, Hatton and Cotto .. nobody had previously punished these guys in a manner the Pacman did .. and he was the one stepping up a couple weight divisions????????

Timothy Bradley came out today and said he wouldn't fight Pacquaio either unless he took the USADA tests prior to a fight and I'm sure he isn't the only one. This has set a precedent in boxing now and it might make the commissions review the anti-doping set-up in the sport.
People say Mayweathers legacy will be forever tarnished due to handpicking opponents but if this fight doesn't go ahead due to Manny refusing to take tests to prove he is clean what does it do to Pacmans legacy?

He has taken every test set by the boxing commissions, there has never been any inclination he is juicing. So by that same standard of judging his legacy and him never taking USADA testing is every fighter who doesn't going to be criticised the same? I very much doubt it. I agree with people who said this testing should be being used in the first place, but it isn't, Pacquiao has passed all the same tests Mayweather and every other fighter has, and should be treated the same.
yeah fair point mate. But I hope something good comes out of it-stricter anti-doping laws in the sport. Seen on BS Malignaggi might be taking Mayweathers slot for the Pacman fight but he has been shouting his mouth off [shock horror] about Pacmans 'alleged' drug use so I can't see how that will work either.

Pac looks guilty. Does not mean he is but Freddie roach coached.James Tibet the one time toney was caught but might be coincidence.
How much blood would they take? Is a pin prick enough? Either way I agree with through testing especially at this level.

Boo hoo hoo - stop being so f*cking naive!!!
The drug testing in boxing does not work like that at all !!! - F*ck it I will not explain - you might start blubbing again!!!
And if the fight happens in Vegas it is very likely Pacman will get tested immediately after the fight anyhow - Hatton did against Urango and Castillo - in fact on the Urango fight he had a p*ss into the bottle in the corner of the changing room because he could not be arsed going to the bogs!!!
Pacman is creating the suspicion by the very virtue of making all the fuss concerning the drugs procedure.

bratley - i'll fight either man
nbradley - i'll fight pac
badley - i'll fight pac with olympic style testing
alexander - i'll fight pac without blood tests
bradley - i'll fight pac without olympic style testing
MAKE YOUR MIND UP!
ps, i don't think any "name" fighter would want to fight tim badley after his last performance. he looked classy, he looked in yer face and he looked altogether too much bother.

Mayweather is the one creating all the fuss about the drug-testing procedure. Pacquiao hasn't ever refused anything by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. This is about Mayweather throwing around wild allegations and trying to get everyone the fight by his rules.
Interesting that Golden Boy refused on behalf of Shane Mosley for him to have ANY blood tests before or after his fight with Zab Judah, which was eventually called off because Judah got injured. But, of course, Mosley was a drugs cheat.

in their actions or lack of action, both combatants have allowed a great deal of negativity to cloud the sport.
money-mad mayweather probably loses out on the only huge payday out there. good, fvck off and fight 17 year olds in mexico, then.
and pac, if he cannot even clear his name the direct way, then good luck going into "megafights" with the paulie malignaggis of the world and getting accused by everyone from cotto to DLH to marquez, of cheating against them.

Less of the jealousy act avril & freddie boswell - mind you it didn't take long to realise you are probably the same character that has been banned from this very forum on a number of occasions in recent months - ohh welll I will answer you and amuse myself.
Nope didnt hold Ricky's dick whilst he p*ssed in the bottle although - did have to kick out numerous people from the dressing room whilst he took the test - not trying to state "in the know" b*llocks from an arrogant angle - just stating simple facts - it seems you continually cannot handle the simple facts and bleat on and on and on in your rather juvenille world you live in.
I sincerely hope you have a fantastic xmas and naturally I hope you had some great presents - especially hope you were brought a brain.

wow boxrec's resident bag carrier has spoken...thanks

talk about jealousy over your man getting KTFO and btw i'll just let you know something, i've never heard one legitimate rumour or shred of evidence about Pac juicing of any kind which is more then i can say for your man Hatton!
Well i'm looking forward to Pacman taking these hypocrites and morons to court
Infact we could be talking about a multi-milllion dollar settlement as the Mayweathers and Goldenboy have damaged the image of Pacman for good with absolutely no proof what so ever and therefore it could be argued his future earning potential.
They've already managed to put a cloud over Pac's recent displays and have made people seriously think Manny has been cheating. So much so, that the public are actually demanding Manny to do what no other fighter has had to do, and to take extra tests to prove himself, something which not even Mosley, Toney and RJJ (known cheaters) were forced to do.
And unlike Mosley, Toney and RJJ, it must reiterated that this whole issue was born from nothing, other than a few good wins!
The whole thing is Hyprocrisy especially from these net morons who are posting on Boxrec and all the other Boxing forums outraged that Pacman declined to take Olympic style drug testing yet have never asked the same thing of known drug cheaters in boxing.
Its also laughable that these people seem to think Olympic testing somehow has a Legitimacy over all forms of drug testing...infact their record is SHOCKING
They never caught Marion Jones or Flo Jo and we now know that 7 of the 8 runners in the final of the 1988 Olympic 100 metres were juicing yet only one, Ben Johnson, was caught.
I'm more outraged by the stupidity of these people questioning Pacman but they also know no shame!

Point is .. mayweather is not asking Pacman to do anything that he himself isn`t offering to do .. I don`t really see the argument.
Maybe the Olympics drug tests do not test for everything on the market(to those in the know) .. but I`m sure Mayweathers people will know what to check for .. and is this what Roach etc seem so scared about??
I`d love for Pacman to go through with the checks .. hammer mayweather and be proved squeaky clean.

Exactly.
I actually believe Pacman is clean - never questioned anything else and believe it or not still dont - however - he has brought his own reputation into question by being so "picky" over this "testing" issue - whoever was advising Pacman concerning this particular section in his contract must have realised that the rumours and questions would start if they did refuse this particular request.

Which is why they changed the testing procedures to have random testing, which makes it far harder to cheat. Olympic testing is 100 times better than the corupt Nevada Commisions and only a moron would claim otherwise. People will always cheat but the Olympic testing procedures are by far the best
As for Pacquaio sueing Golden Boy/Mayweather, he doesn't stand a chance in hell as all they've asked him to do is take a drugs test. He could sue Mallignaggi and Floyd Senior for defamation of character
BTW is Pacquaio was an Olympian he'd be banned and labelled a drugs cheat for avoiding random drugs tests
