I have been a big fan of Tony Bellew since he was an amateur - saw his fights when he was fighting at heavyweight and he is the one amateur I thought (and still think) who will develop into a really good fighter (without making any daft predictions because as we have seen with Errol Christie, Audley Harrison, George Collins etc the best amateurs in this country don't always become the best pro's, poop happens) it has been a suprise to see him fight at light heavyweight as a pro but he has done all thats asked of him up till now.

But the thing is Tony, you haven't beaten any of your domestic competitors to have the right to fight for that title. It is OK shouting for a chance at the British and Commonwealth titles but you know - what have you done to deserve it? If you had at least beat Danny McIntosh, Courtney Fry, Spartacus, Matthew Barney or Oakey then fair enough - but at this moment in time you haven't fought any of your domestic rivals which would count as an eliminator and then you can go 'well, here I am - its my turn'

Ovil McKenzie is a tough guy who has paid his dues and is deserving of a break and he certainly deserves his shot at the titles - I also think Tony Oakey deserves his shot as well - The titles aren't going anywhere - all I am saying personally - before you call out Cleverly and McKenzie - fight at least one of your domestic rivals and become the no1 domestic challenger by earning it.

And remember people - its a point of view thats been made in a respectful manner - lets keep the debate that way eh? :TU:
no disrespect to you carlos-wigan but every single name u have mentioned above bar none have already knocked the fight back with bellew so how the hell is he ment to fight these guys if there all 5hit houses?
I don't personally know what the reason or why the above mentioned have knocked back a date with Tony Bellew - it could be a plethora or reasons - venues, dates, purse money - Tony is at the stage though of getting in on in a British title eliminator and I am certainly not saying he would lose to any of these fighters - he is a very talented fighter - however, I can certainly see why Frank Maloney doesn't think Bellew figures in Ovil McKenzies immediate future - Ovil is basically the next in line for any vacant domestic title as is Oakey - its all set more or less so why fight Tony which is a step back for Ovil at this moment in time. It just doesn't make any sense.

Make Bellew vs Fry/McIntosh/Spartacus/Barney as an eliminator for the titles - Tony has allegedly as his manager - it could be easily made even if it means digging into his pockets a bit more - and then - if and when he beats these fighters - its game on!

I'll be totally honest mate ,You make good points but nearly all them names have said no.. What am I supposed to do mate?? They said no for the last Liverpool show so I went out and fought a guy who had just taken a world champion the distance in his previous fight.. More than fair offers were made to all the fighters you say are above me and the only 1 who said yes was Ovil which I fully respect.. Ovilis supposedly the most avoided man in the division?? I am the only guy asking to fight him to my knowledge, I personally think it was a good match and I know people wanna see it, Does it matter who deserves what in this game?? It matters what the fans wanna see IMO, From what im hearing everyone wants to see me and Ovil go at it, It's all down to 1 man and you allknow who that is.. My final point is you don't get what youdeserve in this game, You get what you negotiate mate.. :TU:

Good luck to Boyle, but that match should not have been made.

Tony - would you fight Bob Ajisafe or Carl Dilks if the fights were offered ? Ajisafe already has a win over Mckenzie of course and doesn't appear to have anything in the pipeline. Might be a bit soon for Dilks although neither are Maloney fighters, so these matches could be made.

You could ask Bellew would he fight Archie Moore, Bob Foster, Michael Spinks and Roy Jones on the same night and he'd say yes. HE WILL FIGHT ANYONE.

Frank Maloney, serious question and one that I think deserves an answer with all that is going on. What is the career path you intend on taking with McKenzie?

I anticipate your reply

Bomber sparked out Velecky in 1 round. Velecky had just taken Stieglitz the WBO champ, the full distance.

You talk out your arse and are probably a shithouse in real life. You need to turn up to one of these cards one day and say hello, i'd give you 2 minutes before you were out the fire exit.

@ King Haye i disagree that bellew will "fuk" clev. we have to see bomber in british and commonwealth title fights before we know what he is really made of. and cleverly's next opponent brancalian is a decent fighter. he is past it but still one of clev's toughest tests maybe. I see from your other comments that your a bellew fan and you may knw him personally.dont let that sway your judgment on cleverly. he looks the real deal to me so far. i'm not doubting for one minute that bellew won't become british champion or maybe even go further but until a fighter has been tested and been in 12 round fights then its hard to compare them we will see in the next few months. :TU:

Thats a fair point just all these bomber bashers pissing me of i believe bomber will beat clev as clev cnt go backwards and bomber cnt not b pushed backwards and he couldnt go toe for tow with him, his next opponent might b good but i dnt think it will go past round 5. bomber goin 12 rounds is hard as not many ppl can handle his power and the ones that might wont fight him most wont even spar him they should b made to fight. all i would like to no from the bomber bashers if no one will fight him what can he do ???????

I'm prepared to wait to see Frank's reply before drawing a conclusion but proves the strength of the net to me - 10 years ago this wouldn't have been in the public domain in the way it is now and if that results in better fights being made then who can argue with that?
