Good point. None of us have ever been President so we shouldn't talk about politics. None of us have coached in a Superbowl, so we shouldn't talk about a coaches decisions in a game. Come to think of it, I have never been a chef, so if I don't like that taste of food at a restaurant I shouldn't discuss that either.

If only fighters and chief seconds posted on boxrec this would be a lonely board.
Actually, you missed my point. :shame: I think everybody is free to criticize. I do it all the time. But the thing I've noticed is that the harshest criticisms come from those who have never done that which they criticize others for doing. And that was the point I was trying to make.

RJJ v Calzaghe was pretty shocking.

Can't agree about Micky Duff, though. Both him and Bobby Neil were excellent corner men. Duff really knew his stuff.

Angelo Dundee once gave some rather ridiculous advice whilst working in a fighter's corner. Not to the fighter but to the ring doctor. He told the doc to "get the fukk away from this man" when the doc came over between rounds to check if Pinklon Thomas was ok in his fight against Tyson fight. Thomas was promptly KO'd in the next round

It was more than once, believe me. Yes, it was idiotic, but that scene is utterly hilarious, Dundee was going absolutely ape-sh!t

Alp says it's stupid to speak of Dundee the way I have, but a lot of the things being said about Duva in this thread could just as readily apply to Dundee.

Barrera-Khan was bad, the cut was bleeding after the minute work on it and it seemed no vaseline was put on it. It was a bad cut though.

Thats right I'm a cheerleader and you and Dundee is a fraud. Whatever. Gee, I wonder if this has anything to do with your dislike for Ali and Leonard?

-15 world champions.
-Ever heard of Carmen Basilio,Willie Pastrano, Jimmy Ellis? You might not have if had not been for Dundee. Look at Basilios record before Dundee. Pasterano was not exactly an elite talent but with Dundee he won the light heavyweight title. Jimmy Ellis was just a decent middleweight and then Dundee helped him go on to win the WBA heavyweight title. He got the most out of his fighters. That is all a trainer can do.

Just a minute, there --- I have to take exception to two things.

One, look back at the cheerleading emoticon, & who I am quoting. It's not you.

Two, I have never been anti-Leonard, & I suspect you are just lumping me in with Granberry in this one. Hell, we only recently had a discussion where we both agreed Leonard's career was unquestionably fantastic. I guess the fact I argued ultimately Duran's was better left you walking away with the idea I hate Leonard. That's completely misrepresentative of me.

Duff was a clever matchmaker and good promoter but he was an attention seeking show pony in the corner, the actual trainer couldn't get a word in because Duff was too busy ranting like an idiot.

Why the hell was he in the corner in the first place if he's not the trainer?

It looked to me that you were saying that I was a cheerleader of Dundee. Not sure why you were saying that about Darling. He just happened to agree with me that your statement about Dundee was unbelievably stupid.
You have certainly acrooss as anti-Leonard. Saying that the win over Benitez was tainted because Benitez had a cut from an accidental headbutt ? The cut was completely under control and did not affect Benitez at all. I have never heard anyone else ever bring this up. Then the lame excuses for Hagler and trying to diminish Leonard's historic win. That is not being objective at all.

I do actually agree with you sometimes. I think we all seem to remember more often when we disagree with someone than when we agree.

I don't know where you get this stuff --- I clearly made a joke about Leonard's win over Hagler, which you mistook to be serious, & then I cleared it up for you.

I think you're being a little touchy with Leonard if you think my bringing up Benitez --- the only real, "criticism," if you can even call it that, is bashing the man.

Whoever it was in Vitali Klitschko's corner vs Lewis who accidentally widened the cut with his thumb.
