My mate is having a massive bbq with about 150 ppl and a marquee so gonna watch the fight there. TBH I'm sure I'll find it pretty annoying after a while as my brother aside, none of my mates know much about boxing and they are bound to start asking daft questions and making daft comments. But I don't wanna be an anti-social bastard and watch the fight home alone so I'll bear with it!

I hear you brother, it's a minefield. When I watch a fight with the Mrs, all she talks about is how high the shorts are and how stupid they look.

Beer, bad food and a nasty Haye KO.

Just perfect.
I envy you, seriously. I've got to walk out of a wedding at 7:30pm to try and find a boozer with it on that's not full of numpties. I would give anything to be sat at home with the tv on, beers in an ice bucket and junk food on the side

As the team has left already I shall be cooking on the bbq for a few friends and family and hiding in the kitchen till haye comes on, while becoming good pals with my mate Stella :DD

Invited mates round. They are big sports fans but casual boxing fans. I am a boxing missionary sent to convert them.

Will try to find some generic DVD of boxing HWs through the ages to get them going…

The wife has told me that she has now invited all said mates’ birds round. So I can’t just sit there in my Spider-Man pyjamas eating take-away out of the tray…

I’ve now decided to go to town and try to convert the girls too. So I’m organising it like a 1970s black-tie affair… the birds will love putting on their best vintage frocks etc… It’s all champers and canapés…

Anybody seen a scan on the internet of the tickets? I’ll have to send out invitations. This is a one man mission to push the sport back to the chattering classes…

Perfect day for me, wake up in the hamburg mariott, on me birthday, full day on the beer with the boys, hope I'm in a decent shape to make it to the imtech arena, back down the reeperbahn to finish off.

Truly cannot wait for this now. Flying out on Friday morning into Hannover from Heathrow and then train into Hamburg. Staying at Radisson Blu. Going with the mrs but should still be awesome.

Will take it fairly easy Friday but from about 3pm on Saturday will be hitting the beers big time! Anyone know any decent bars near the Imtech Arena??

I've managed to talk the wife round and i'll be leaving the wedding i'm going to at 9:30pm to get to the pub to watch it. The constant talk about it and making her watch the build up has worked, it's not ideal but it will do

Wer are doing the same thing but flying in from Gatwick to Hannover. The German trains are awesome as well.

One of the lads i'm going with is a Fulham fan (stay with me here) and because of last seasons euro exploits he actually went to Hamburg a few times. he says there are 2 very big boozers near the ground that you can't miss and are great but get absolutely rammed before games (so we presume fights) but thats where most people will go anyway.

He knows a few others that are close but a bit more 'off the beaten track' shall we say lol i'll try and get the names but there is one where you walk through a bookies to get to a bar attached to it haha

Hopefully see a few Boxrecers out there anyway :TU:

Well done Freddy mate, that's the spirit. My mate got married on Cup Final day 1992, never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that Sunderland would make it to the cup final. There was hell on mate.

You sorted a boozer? I know the Casino, Riley's and the Aardvaark are all showing it.
