KHAN - some people should be ashamed

To be fair Khan probably is a bigger name than Froch, certainly in America and has had wider exposure than Carl for most of his career. He has probably earned more money than Carl too. Does this make him a better boxer than Carl? no, for me Carl is the better fighter pound for pound, certainly the more solid fighter, and I think Carl has faced the better opposition too. Silly comments all round really, they both should know better. Just a shame they arent closer together in size!....

Well i've heard (as well as read) Froch's comments and he certainly wasn't being unkind or sticking the boot in.

For what it's worth, i agree with him. Amir has taken a pasting off a good but not spectacular fighter. He was really hurt in there. This is coming off losing his last fight (albeit to a drugs cheat).

I would say that the guy is a multi-millionaire and has yet to accrue any serious damage to his health. He's achieved a hell of a lot in his career and i would suggest he's achieved all that he ever realistically could.

Why box on? His poor punch resistance has magically returned and now there's even question marks about his trainer (who people on here would have sworn blind was a genius just three months ago).

I just don't see what more he can achieve.

Froch is the best boxer from these shores and hasn't the same popular acclaim, (particularly in the US) or made the same sort of money as Khan, who is still a fair bit younger. Although Carl has shown to be very sturdy under attack he has shown to be lacking in different areas. (Also very sturdy boxers have been known to come apart suddenly). Froch is a class boxer and a great advert for boxing; it'd be better if he said nothing or something supportive.

As for Amir Khan, people can have their own opinion of him. For me he is a brave lad with a lot of talent. I wanted him to win, but he is not my favourute fighter by a long way.

This sums up Amir Khan, for me. Lots and lots of bottle, will to win but far, far too reckless. Shame, as he has talent.

Mate, if Scotland were playing England in a World Cup knockout match (very unlikley I know) and I walked into a pub in Glasgow filled with Scottish fans, wearing an England shirt and then started laughing and cheering when Scotland lost the penalty shoot out, do think the Scottish fans would have been queueing up to buy my a beer?

The camera crew never flocked around him whilst he gave it the big 'superstar' bullshit with his shades on, waxing lyrical about 'pound for pound, money and stardom'

But here is the beauty of the sport for me, all that hoopla and bull means zilch when the bell rings. And Garcia cleaned this superstar's clock inside of 12 minutes.

Where I was brought up we know humility - not vulgar flashiness and sponsorships handed out on a plate.

And even after his level in the sport has been underlined yet AGAIN... We get thousands of arguments and toys flying out the pram by people think vulgarity is something to be respected and championed.

In closing, the guy is in the weakest 140lb division of the last 10 years and is still getting more hammer than a nail.

He is not worthy of the money he earns, nor the arguments he causes.

Noone's in denial and saying it doesn't exsist. You're calling someone who clearly is not a racist a racist because he don't like Khan. If you said the stuff you're saying to me in the street, I'll break you're nose. I'm Irish, we are targeted as much as anyone, but we take it with a pinch of salt.
