The WBA is unified. Wlad has it, it becomes the WBA super when you unify the regular WBA with another title. This thing Povetkin has is the bogus title.

I know what you mean though but it's not though really, is it? Wlad has the WBA world title and yet this and all Povetkin's fights are sold as 'WBA world title fights'. The super belt invention is an absolute stinker.

Reminded me of Bowe/Dokes, a real low point for all concerned - allegedly included, who tried to bring this "fight" to the UK, god help us.

And how the German dandy promoters could celebrate in the ring like that after, like their man had just done something fantastic, was shameful.

I though this was both amusing and disturbing of Rahman to be so deluded....

Then Rahman, who needs to retire immediately before he gets hurt (and also so he no longer subjects the boxing public to these kinds of preposterous mismatches) said something so over the top it was laughable.

"The fight would have been different if it was in America," he said.

No it wouldn't.

It would have been exactly the same mandated WBA madness, only with a shorter plane ride needed for Rahman and his promoter, Greg Cohen, to get home to cash the paycheck -- minus the sanctioning fees, of course -- that they came for but did not deserve.

Rahman has always been delusional. He bitched and moaned his way through both Maskaev fights, and the Corrie Sanders, John Ruiz, Evander Holyfield and second Lennox Lewis and James Toney fights. He gets knocked down and claims he didn't. You hit him in the head and he calls it a low blow. If he got knocked clean out he'd deny it. He's an on top fighter. God only knows how bad he must have looked in sparring, hope all his hangers on got a nice payday.
