During his career, I always regarded Camacho as an annoying hotdog. But I always watched in hopes he would get his ass beat usually I was disappointed. Now I say that Camacho was trans formative figure in boxing He had an outstanding record only six losses in 88 professional fights, Never stopped fought and beat lots of very good boxers . On his ring accomplishments alone he's much more deserving than many of the boxers who are already there . However he'll be most remembered for his flair for showmanship and self-promotion , He was way more famous than any other 130-140 pound light hitting speedster I can think of off hand . Lots of other boxers have imitated but never duplicated Camacho's style since then Boxing if you are not a participant is entertainment and a business Camacho was great in both of those areas.

I believe you were impling that Muhammad Ali was only famous in America. That is certainly not the case .Ali was a "World" Champion in the truest sense of the word. Be boxed in lots of far-flung locations before huge crowds He had ardent fans everywhere in the world, even in countries where there is very little boxing.
