Sorry if this has been posted already, but Christ, Froch gets worse. Punches to the head aren't good for you apparently, he doesn't expand on the many he took for 8 rounds without a stoppage mind........
He's quite the diplomat; if the architectural drawing and design doesn't come off he seems to have a flair for making bridges and seems a thoughtful and intelligent man; maybe counselling or some other profession where he sees others as his equal?

This is a simple question to answer, because it's all subjective opinion. If you don't like Carl Froch then he becomes arrogant arsehole in your own mind and if you like him he doesn't. As someone said, we can only judge him on pre fight or post fight talk which is not the best way of trying to assess someone's personality.

Personally I dont dislike him. I mean I dont know him but just going on what you see I dont dislike him. I agree that he doesnt always come across well but some dont to be fair in front of camera's. Something that has always stuck in my mind from years ago was a newspaper article I read and I think it was before Froch's first world title fight with Pascal. Anyway, they interviewed a couple of people he was at college with, I think it was Loughborough? Gomez might be able to confirm that. Anyway, his ex classmates said he was one of the nicest guys they'd met. You would of never known he was a boxer. Didnt try and act tough or brash, etc. Used to stick up for people aswell apparantly.

I probably wouldn't come across that well if I was facing someone who was saying I'd lost several of my previous fights I'd won. Groves wound him up, he bit and got annoyed. The fight had been turned on it's head, groves was hurt, but the ref stopped it too soon, now Froch is a twat. Amazing stuff.

Not quite. Loads on here have been calling him a twat for years.

True I suppose to an extent, maybe it just took the events of Saturday for the people in the negative corner, the 'haters' if you want, to come out in force.
I still think there's a fickle element to it all though, the changing of sides that happened in that arena. Khan-esque vs Prescott, cheered into the ring and then laughed out of it by the same fans, I don't really get that. Maybe it's a Manc thing?

Though with a little bit of thought, with a dozen journalists and television cameras in front of you you would probably deal with an awful lot better than Froch did; rather than get rattled, upset and seem arrogant and brittle you could say; 'My mum and dad have the same opinion as you and I'll answer you in the ring with my fists and let my critics eat their words' - I thought that up on the spot and am not thinking about my legacy/future earnings/sportsmanship awards.

I thought the Froch fan boys were saying that Froch could never be wound up by Groves???
At least that is sorted anyway!

I'm amazed at the level of twat he's managed to reach since the fight was stopped, it's like he's going for the record or something.

Yes.
"As much as the fans want to see it reach a natural conclusion against George Groves, with me knocking him out again, I feel personally I gave him his chance and he blew it - he can't cut it at world level," said the champion".

Ive heard Froch say a few times now that he "gave" Groves the shot. Wasnt GG the mandatory for the title? In which case he "earned" his shot.

Is Carl Froch an Arrogant Asshole?
Maybe. But don't you think he has achieved enough in the sport to expect a bit of respect from his opponents. No-one else in modern day boxing has fought the calibre of fighters that Carl has consecutively year-after-year. And that's not an opinion, it's a fact.
Carl has been like a modern day Oscar De La Hoya who is willing to take the hard fights whatever the cost. I wish more of todays fighters would take a leaf out of Carl's book.

Though his achievements speak for themself; if he expects or requires his opponent to bow before him then his ego is really out of control; his opponent is there to beat him, physically and mentally - all Groves said was that he wasn't unbeatable as he'd been beaten, that he had struggled in some fights he won and that his style had weaknesses. It's not; 'You're shite and you know you are' is it?

Naturally, but there is nothing wrong with wanting to be recognised for your achievements. Froch is a 4 time World Champion. Nobody said that Carl was unbeatable - Ward and Kessler proved that.

I'm on the same page with you on this but I understand how he does rub people the wrong way. I'm a big fan and have been for awhile purely because he's been willing to go in with the best time and time again! That doesnt happen anywhere near enough these days and if the majority of boxers had Froch's mentality, I think the sport would be in a better place.

Yeah....Froch became a damn site more insulting than Groves was. The worst Groves got was when Froch was basically unhappy that Groves was baiting him on Ringsode, and seemed to want Eddie to stop Groves doing it, due to him being an international superstar

Yes
Although he has still taken on some bloody hard fights recently and should be given some respect for that. As a person, he is hard to find likeable imo.

Groves recognognised his achievements by choosing to box him, rather than a lesser champion. Groves worked hard to get into a position to have a choice - he never put Froch' achievements down, he just didn't glorify them or put Carl on a plinth; Groves was made out to be a trash talker and to have no respect and it just doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

A lot are, boxers are known for being arrogant IMO. The list of cocky boxers is too long to write,
You've got to be unbelievably confident in yourself to be able to do what they do (i.e. to fight the toughest people on the world whilst the planet is watching), so it's hardly surprising. I'd imagine they're a lot less cocky off camera and when they're not in training for a fight, but that's not what the public sees

Carl Froch is a fantastic servant to British Boxing. All he did last Saturday was box and showed tremendous heart and courage when others would not have found a way to dig deep like he needed to just to stay in the fight.
