Re: Saunders v Lee off?
Looks like Derry Matthews is replacing Lee/Saunders. Probably best waiting until weigh in day and seeing who turns up before buying a ticket for this promoters events.
Saunders apparently cut. Ought to wear a headguard next time.

Re: Saunders v Lee off?
I'm sure Derry was originally meant to be on this show anyway. Perhaps his fight got moved to make way for lee/Saunders. I just looked through the wbo top ten at 160lbs to see if there were any names in there that fwank might line up for lee to make a defence against, Tommy Langford is at no.7 and Kerry hope is no.13 but those seem very unlikely challengers.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Looks like Derry Matthews is replacing Lee/Saunders. Fwank is turning cancelled main events into an art form. It can happen to any promoter but fwank is somehow able to have the same fight fall through more than once. It's not 'will the fight fall through?' It's how many times will it fall through.
Re: Saunders v Lee off?
Yes... he does seem to be the "unluckiest" promoter out there.JimJim2009 wrote:

I used to buy into the bad luck theory but now I'm not sure.
Re: Saunders v Lee off?
Got to admit I'm starting to think there's more to it than just bad luck. Ridiculous how many times this seems to happen. No wonder he struggles to sell tickets.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:I used to buy into the bad luck theory but now I'm not sure.

Will Lee be defending on this bill anyway then?JimJim2009 wrote:I'm sure Derry was originally meant to be on this show anyway. Perhaps his fight got moved to make way for lee/Saunders. Re: Saunders v Lee off?
This makes perfect sense for it to be lee vs eubank jr for the title. be a great fight, won't happen
Re: Saunders v Lee off?
I'd imagine Spike O'Sullivan would have no problems jumping in to replace Saunders. An all-Irish showdown for a "World Title".

Re: Saunders v Lee off?
A fight like that would sell thirty thousand tickets at Limerick. Oh, hang on, somebody tried that but twenty thousand fans got a virus and couldn't come or something like that.Deno1986 wrote:I'd imagine Spike O'Sullivan would have no problems jumping in to replace Saunders. Re: Saunders v Lee off?
Can anyone actually say what's going on with this fight? (Lee v Saunders) Saunders injured?
I was looking forward to this :(

Re: Saunders v Lee off?
Same here. I almost got a ticket for it, but decided to hold off just in case. Sounds like they are hoping to rearrange though.Crazyboy wrote:Thanks mate....bit gutted actually, think this would have been a great fight...hope it still happensBoxerbeetle wrote:Postponed again as Saunders got cut in sparring.Crazyboy wrote:Can anyone actually say what's going on with this fight? Re: Saunders v Lee off?
It is being re-arranged for December. That is to say, the fight will again not happen in December.Crazyboy wrote:Thanks mate....bit gutted actually, think this would have been a great fight...hope it still happensBoxerbeetle wrote:Postponed again as Saunders got cut in sparring.Crazyboy wrote:Can anyone actually say what's going on with this fight? I've seen one. His cousin put it on FB.Naandrew wrote:No pics on Twitter yet though.mickey1975 wrote:It's a really bad cut.
Re: Saunders v Lee off?
I'd got the impression from a (I think) boxing news video he wasn't really in full on sparring and was just about to head out to Marbella for that side of thing?mickey1975 wrote:I've seen one. In someways after getting stitched up with the Limerick thing it makes me think you reap what you sow, making up an illness there and then for the rearranged date getting what seems to be an actual injury. But I do feel for people who've bought tickets for this and ultimately I'm a boxing fan and this would/will be a cracking fight so I'd like to have seen it happen.

Re: Saunders v Lee off?
Fair play, that does look pretty bad.
Re: Saunders v Lee off?
Yeah fair enough bad luck for FW then.
Wonder if he wore headguard or not ?
Tyson Fury doesn't wear one.

Re: Saunders v Lee off?
If he cuts like that at sparing, what chance has he against Lee in December.
Re: Saunders v Lee off?
that looks like a clash of heads, fight will probably sell better in December.
