I raise my eyebrows , at just whats going on ,, Ok some boxers are not the brightest of sparks , and if there not seasoned travellers could stuff up the visa process , Same boxer may have a manager who is'nt totally profesional and has'nt got a clue , perhaps they think its just a matter of catching a bus to England ...

But the guy with the money , the guy who stands to make or lose money , in this case , is certainly not an idiot , and the fact that he's not on the ball about visa's really does have me intrigued , after all its not like its not happenned before , , Personally when a guy has experienced has THIS PROMOTER IS'NT ON TOP OF IT WANTING TO KNOW IF VISAS WERE SORTED WEEKS AGO , IT JUST CAUSES ME TO RAISE MY EYBROWS AND THINK ,, theres more too it

His trainer trains Chagaev aswell I think. Could be wrong on that though, not 100% sure.
Something like that.

wonder how many weeks training down the toilet that is then? I know injuries can occur, but it must mess with you mentally to think you're fighting a Cuban for several weeks then find out that you're not! - with about a week to go. Shocking really.
Mentally - as well as in terms of income stream/ cashflow - this is very undesirable for a boxer.

Terrible news and very unprofessional. The knock on affect here for Rigo could be catastrophic for his career. He isn't getting any younger and certain fighters and promoters will use this latest debacle to justify passing up a fight with him and quite rightly so IMO. Most of all I feel for Dickens and all the fans who have shelled out for tickets on the basis they will be seeing this fight. Still a decent night of boxing if you're a fan and hopefully they can find a semi decent opponent for Dickens at short notice. Doesn't matter who they find it will still end up an anti-climax for the guy.

In a way I'm glad this hasn't happened when Rigo was supposed to be headlining. Can you imagine if this had happened before a Belfast fight with Frampton?!

Nothing yet, I'm not expecting anything today because it's a bank holiday in Russia, hopefully Warren calls in a few favours and gets it sorted. Don't think Rigo will arrive tomorrow as planned but I reckon it'll get sorted in time for the fight.
have u got inside info for this???????????..........

win-win for Jazza. Raised his profile by signing to fight Rigo without having to actually fight him

Great excuse for Frampton not to fight him. Bazza will say he can't be trusted.

Just a gut feeling, when TTGs can make it in at 2 days notice I don't see why Rigo can't, even if it means they have to weigh in on the day instead of Friday.

I thought it was widely accepted that this was dead in the water? Is there still an outside chance of it going ahead then? I've not read anything official yet.

@JazzaDickens10 I did all I could until this point 2make this happen. 4 what is worth I apologize 2 u and the fans if we can't pull this off

suppose anything can happen until ringwalk time.
Weigh-ins will be around noon Friday, so that's 47hours away, throw in a flight from Miami, tick-tock tick-tock...

Hope it still goes ahead. Not sure what the drill is with Visa applications or how long it takes etc... Not really looking good at the moment.

realistically, he's flown long haul from Russia to Miami then he's got to fly Miami to Liverpool.
Everybody around the situation are apologising and blaming other people for the visa mix-up.
Not heard one positive take on getting it sorted yet.
I'd be very surprised if it went ahead now.
Hopefully they can re-arrange the fight for another card, I feel sorry for Jazza in all this...

If for some stupid reason Rigo hops on a plane from Miami with his sh*t together today, and makes it to fight night after all this faffing about, 10-1 odds available on Dickens @ PP.
