If I'm been brutally honest I don't think it matters who trains Dave , the fittest/ best Dave there is would need a lot of luck to win the British title i can't see a top trainer prepared to invest in Dave because the reward will be minimal .

i disagree, dave, although limited talent wise is a very popular fighter on the circuit. he shifts big ticket numbers and get a decent income on televised fights. any half decent trainer would welcome a %'age of that.

What makes you think he is a big ticket seller?
My perception is that he has generally been undercard support for shows that would sell just as well with or without him.
I don't KNOW what impact he has had on ticket sales but I suspect that not many people bought tickets for his last three BECAUSE he was on the bill. Obviously he didn't sell any for the Yoka fight and I do know that he didn't sell many for the fight before that at Walsall Town Hall.

he definately gets people ringside.....he has self promoted himself well via social media with his 'down to earth attitude'

ok, i accept his ticket selling attributes may not be as i stated, but he is put on the undercard of big bills for a reason. he does not cost a lot, generates public interest, gets the casual fans interested and not just the hard core boxing fraternity.

all in all...i feel dave is an asset to a stable and he would be welcomed.

A win some/lose some boxer with moderate skills and potential and isn’t a big earner isn’t a big lure for a top trainer

EXCLUSIVE: Dave Allen explains recent training stint with Adam Booth

ollowing a visit to Adam Booth’s London gym, Dave Allen spoke WBN about the possibility of linking up with one of the most sought-after trainers in the sport.

Booth, 49, has coached some British of boxing’s biggest names. A distinguished list that includes David Haye, George Groves, Mick Conlan, Danny Williams, Josh Kelly and Ryan Burnett.

With his profile increasing due to several high-profile appearances on Matchroom Pay-Per-View cards, Allen is weighing up his options.

“It’s a possibility that I’ll go down and train with Booth. But it’s also a possibility that I’ll stay here. And it’s a possibility that I’ll go somewhere else entirely,” the 26-year-old exclusively explained to World Boxing News.

“As of now, nothing is set in stone. We’ll see how we get on. It was basically a test to see how we’d work together in the gym and how we like each other outside of the gym as well.

“I’m not sure if it’s going to be full time or not, but it’s something that’s a definite possibility,”
he added.

But winning isn’t enough for the ‘White Rhino’, who cites a poor performance against Argentine Ariel Bracamonte last time out as food for thought, despite emerging victorious late on. Plus, an early victory over Samir Nebo into the bargain.

“My last two performances kind of prompted me to have a look around,” said the PPV regular. “Obviously, I’ve been with the same trainer for a long time now.

“But sometimes one man doesn’t always work for a fighter. Maybe I need something different, a different environment to train in.

“The buck has to stop with me, though. I’m the one who has to go out and run in the morning. It’s up to me, no one else.

“And it’s up to me to change,”
concluded Allen.

Gorman and Dubois should be chasing this fight hard.

Easy win for both and gets their names out there a bit more too.

Gorman is his mate
IIRC Frank said Allen demanded £100k to fight Dubois and Allen looked completely baffled when asked about it in an interview.

Seems pretty mad that so many people would vote for him on twitter though, perhaps he should start promoting or something and charge a few quid for a youtube (or other platform) PPV
