The offer was nonsense. It would have meant fighting on BT. AJ os under contract to SKY. That would be like Harry Kane playing a game for Arsenal. It was an offer Finkel knew could not be accepted.
The offer was made in April.
Joshua ("the boss") didn't sign his new contract with Sky until August.
It was the biggest duck in boxing history.

When did his previous contract expire? What were the terms of the negotiation?

Joshua's reputation definitely has taken a hit. Virtually nobody outside of the uk believes he didn't duck wilder. It doesn't help when you have the two other best heavys putting on a very entertaining fight which had everyone glued to the screen. To add insult to injury they both called Joshua a chicken in front of the hundreds of millions of viewers watching worldwide. I would think that having gone through the battle they went through and both shown heart, their credibility at that point was very high. Not to mention the frightening moment when fury got polaxed in the 12th and the camera pans to him motionless on the floor. everyone watching realized wilders power was frightening.
Like it or not, Joshua is seen as a ducker now and fighting the whytes and chisoras will only enhance that image.

X2.
The biggest duck in boxing history?! Oh my days.
Wilder going on social media saying he'll pay £50m does not constitute a proper offer.
I've not heard anything anywhere that suggests a mutually agreeable contract was ever anywhere near on the table - for either party.
You can argue Wilder had ducked Joshua just as much as vice versa. Fact is it just hasn't happened yet as both have too much to lose with other very lucrative and more winnable fights out there.

Joshua's promoter went on IFL shortly after and said the offer was genuine and the money was there. He said Joshua would make his mind up within the next 2 weeks. He chose not to fight.

Wow ! Hats off to Tyson Fury - great performance. So pleased AJ didn’t accept 50 million to get robbed by us judges !

It call it an 'offer' is giving it too much credit.
It was delivered on twitter, had a 24 hour deadline and gave absolutely no details whatsoever.
There is no way on earth Joshua's team could accept in the form it was delivered.
If Wilder's team had guarenteed Sky exclusive UK TV rights and offered hearn a hand un the promotion the fight it could well have been AJ who fought Wilder at the weekend.
But Wilder's team refused to even meet to discuss the terms. It was a bogus 'offer'.
That being said, Joshua's team should have offered Wilder %40 if they really wanted him to come to the UK for the fight, rather than the flat fee that was offered.
Both sides are to blame for the fight not happening this year.
The real winners of this saga is Fury and Warren. They both played their hands perfectly and gatecrashed the division.

The Joshua fanboys are getting desperate. They say the offer wasn't genuine but Eddie Hearn confirmed the offer was genuine and he'd checked that the money was there. He said Joshua would make his mind up in the next fortnight (a bit more than 24 hours)
Barry Hearn tweeted about rejecting the offer 2 days ago.
